A camel blazer:
It’s the key piece in your wardrobe. If you’re a regular FiFi Report reader then you know the power of a camel blazer.
If you invest in one major blazer make it in camel or beige. Not black. Why? because a black blazer with your fav black pants = a serious trousers suit. Not very versatile. Whereas a camel blazer? It loves black pants! It loves denim! It loves white and all tones of neutral. Go for an oversized cut with big shoulders: It looks relaxed and effortless: you can wear it on weekends with sneakers. Out to dinner. It can be single or double breasted as long as it has ease to the shape.

A sleeveless vest/blazer:
The most versatile piece ever invented ! It will go from work to weekend. In a blink of an Eye. Chic and polished for work over a simple knit and slouchy pants. Then watch it work magic on weekends with a white tank,  jeans and Birkenstocks.  It’s also trans seasonal. So you can wear in summer with nothing underneath and a long white skirt. In winter? Over a knit sweater with pleather pants and pumps. Go for a fabulous neutral colour: Neither grey nor beige : it’s both ! This is a colour that changes with whatever you put it back with. Like a painting whose eyes follow you around the room this colour will always be there ready for you !

Baggy pants.
Say goodby to too many black pants: It’s cream/beige/bone/brown pants you need now. They are an instant wardrobe updater. Why? Because you can pull out your old black tops and suddenly they look modern. You can wear with a black blazer. And these pants also love any neutral tops and sweaters. Pleat front high waist look chic , the trick is to buy a size bigger so they sit a little lower ( and don’t dig into the ‘situation’) ( it hurts and doesn’t look effortless)( I should know!). Wear with white tees or a delicious neutral top like this. And don’t worry about what type of shoes: these pants work with both flats to heels but make sure they are white or in a tan/neutral. A black shoe with cream pants? Tricky to pull off.

Wide leg jeans:
Hardly need an introduction; you need wide leg jeans in your life. They instantly update any old blazers or tops. Modern and effortless. And when they are high waist and worn long are totally leg lengthening. Yes, please. Go for a light wash or a classic washed dark denim colour. Wear with pointy flats, kitten heels, birks and chunky sandals.

Stripe sweater:
What’s not to love about a stripe sweater? It’s the clever way to add a print without , you know , being a pesky print or frumpy floral. A stripe is always modern and chic. It adds impact without over taking your look. Love this stripe sweater from toteme, it’s updated into a modern slouchy shape ( a tight stripe knit sweater this is not!). You’ll notice when you wear updated modern pieces like this then life gets easier: no need to joosh with accessories or fiddle to make it look good. You just put it on and out the door. It’s already got inbuilt groove.

A jumpsuit:
Love a jumpsuit. Love a strapless beige jumpsuit. With sneaky details on the waist to give you shape ! Who cares if it’s tricky to get in and out of , a jumpsuit is a one stop shop of cool. When a dress can be too frou frou and pants and a top look too casual ,  a jumpsuit fits the bill. So modern. So chic. You put it on and you’re done. I’d wear this jumpsuit with white strappy heels or tan mules if you are going out . Toss a blazer on your shoulders ( don’t wear it !) and that Acne tan clutch , gold earrings and you’re super chic. Best thing is that you can dress a jumpsuit down with flats strappy sandals and it will look totally low key and effortless. Until you go to the bathroom haha.

A statement top.
Do you know about table top dressing? Keep the focus on the top of the body where every one is looking. And hide the pieces that are boring so to speak ( like black pants) under the table. Which is why I love a white shirt and this fabulous off the shoulder knit top. Both key pieces that create the drama on top. Always remember to update to your white shirt into a modern shape ( loose and roomy with major cuffs) . A beige top or white top is never boring when it twists and turns and drapes. You’re getting the fashion edge from the shape not the colour. This is good. Wear with everything from skirts to  jeans to baggy pants.

A long camel skirt:
Yes, please to a luxurious camel skirt. That’s because it’s tone on tone, one colour dressing. Which means a skirt like this can be easily worn with all your neutrals, chocolate brown and creams. It’s quiet luxury that I have been talking about for years. This is definitely a winter skirt : it will look fabulous with boots and a short crop trench or bomber jacket. This is a drool worthy piece that some of us can only dream about (!) but use this as inspiration and know that camel midi wrap skirts are here to stay.

Accessories
A tan bag: Do we need to discuss why we love a tan/camel bag? (Read all about it here!). Just know it can work magic and instantly elevate everything you own.  Wear it day to evening, work to weekends and summer and winter. And whatever day you’re having a tan bag will always fit you. Gotta love that.

white shoes:  They are miracle workers. (Read more here on why we love white shoes). Once you invest in white or cream shoes you can’t go back. Love these Mary Jane’s with a block heel or grab white loafers and wear them every single day.

Tan sandals: Same as white shoes: they lighten the look. Add a third colour. Break up the monotone. Love a chunky sandal or a chic mule either and both are just the best. You’ll live in them all summer and into next !

A designer belt: I am sucker for a designer belt, especially a Gucci belt. I have tan, black and red . They go in and out of fashion. Mine are all over 10 years old. Guess what’? I am pulling them out again ! They instantly elevate any thing you wear. From Jeans to shorts to chinos. Almost like a piece of jewellery but they keep your pants up too, ha!

Cool sunglasses: it’s a no brainer but my tip? Go for tortoiseshell or brown as black can sometimes look too dark with your wardrobe of neutrals and white which you now have. Don’t you? Good work !

Gold earrings : I don’t usually include a lot of jewellery here but these caught my eye. Modern and bold they make a statement. Remember don’t wear bracelets AND earrings AND necklaces, Stick to one major piece and focus on one area. You are not a Christmas tree. (Did I just say that word and it’s only September ?!)
