The secret to Winter weekend dressing ! #easy #effortless
The single thing every one of my clients needs help with?
Casual dressing.
You know how to do evenings ( not that anyone goes out anymore!)
You know how to do office wear ( When you do go there).
But weekends and smart casual ?
It’s so tricky.
You don’t want to look too dressed up. Try hard, muttony or too fashiony.
But you don’t want to look too boring, dated and daggy either. Yikes.
How to do casual chic ?
It’s easy.
Ditch the idea of jooshing up your wardrobe with bright colours and kooky prints.
Too hard. Aging. Time consuming to style. Never looks looks effortless.
Invest in classic colours but here’s the trick:
Make sure the fashion edge is in new exciting shapes.
Update! update! update !
That way the new silhouettes does all the hard work for you.
No need to accessorize with scarves and jewellery and tricky styling.
You just throw on these fabulous pieces, mask on and you’re out the door.
Or walking to the couch. Or fridge !
At least you’re going to look fabulous. Which will make you feel good.
And that my friends is the FiFi philosophy.
Remember buy less and wear more by investing in a thought out and considered wardrobe.

Here are the key pieces you to make you smile for another day:
A beige oversized Puffer:
Love this one from Zara. It’s big but it’s dramatic. You can wear with leather pants or chinos. With a pencil skirt and boots. Yes, with track pants. But you knew that.
A Parka:
Love this one from Arket. It’s rain proof. In black but it’s so chic. Toss over everything you own! You could stick to one colour under there: all white or lots of grey. Love this one in brown. It’s handy dot com.
Black wide leg jeans:
More dressier than blue jeans. Black jeans love camel and they love grey and they love white. Wear with knee high white boots. Or if that’s too much try ankle boots or sneakers. These jeans will take you right through to spring. High waist like these levis is key.
A slouchy sweater:
Go for grey. Go for white. Go for any classic colour. Just make it big so it makes a statement and covers the situation while you are at it.
Chinos:
You need them in a cotton taupe. For when denim is too casual and black pants are too boring and officey. You can wear long with strappy heels come summer or roll them up with white birkenstocks.
A long cardigan:
Make it in camel or grey. Make it long to the shin. Make sure it crosses over enough at the front so it meets. You don’t want to show any lumps. Well, I don’t anyway. Layer over a white tee. Especially good with sneakers and trackies. When a coat is too much. No short cardigans ever allowed. Daggy. Aging. Wrong. Never flattering.
A statement white tee:
A puff sleeve tee is a must going into spring. Those sleeves might not fit under a jacket or your long cardigan. But that’s the point: the top is going to make a statement on its own.
Shoes:
White veja sneakers are great , with a little taupe suede adds a little joosh but plain white is fine. Otherwise I love a super sneaker in taupes like this one here on sale. The big trend for summer, the only thing I will be wearing when it’s warmer are Birkenstocks. They look great with baggy pants and long skirts. Invest now.
Boots:
If you need an ankle boot then you want one that sits higher up the leg. That’s so it meets all your crop pants. Mind the gap ! This black boot is the same as the beige one I posted. Great heel. Perfect toe. Will take you into next winter. Otherwise grab the cream knee high boots at Country Road or these fabulous brown boots at Arket. They will go under all your pants but with a skirt too.
