I say any excuse to go shopping for a few sexy black pieces.
With a dash of gold and a dollop of red.
Yes, Red is the colour of the season but I think it’s best in accessories like a bag or shoes or just treat yourself to Hermes nail polish. Or a chic YSL lipstick. (A big red coat or red blazer? Not versatile and way too hard to style).

The drama and the fashion edge with black is choosing extreme shapes : that might be a LONG tulle skirt, ( I have this skirt, go up 2 sizes so it not too bulky on waist)( it’s fabulous with flat boots in winter). a sharp blazer, or fabulous leather trench jacket or long black coat. Or how about this seriously oversized cape ?!
And of course any black maxi dress or an amazing sculptural top needs to have a fashion edge and some kind of drama in the cut. Because you sure ain’t getting the va va voom from the colour!
