Leather pants:
I’ve been talking about them here on The FiFi Report since 2014.
It was actually waaay back in 2011 that I yelped with glee and shrieked with excitement when I first laid eyes on divine leather track pants in the Celine show.
That’s the thing.
Fashion actually moves slowly.
If you get in on the trend early you can get years of wear. (Don’t worry! I am here to tell you immediately about a new trend as soon as I sniff it out).

You need leather (or pleather) pants in your wardrobe.
I love them ! If you follow me on SHOPwithFiFi you know what I am talking about it.
The add texture and a cool fashion edge to your wardrobe (where boring black pants can be a snoozefest)
And they don’t need ironing ( the main reason I grab them every day, ha)
Best of all: Totally easy to clean (I am a dufus who spills everything!)
They don’t have to be black though they are the most flattering and versatile.
Go for choc brown or camel or khaki green.
Make sure they’re slouchy with room to move.

Here’s a little trick: If you have leather leggins or coated jeans from a couple of seasons ago then keep wearing them. But make sure you wear them with a long slouchy sweater. Over the bottom and to cover the low waist. With combat boots.
The boots are modern and will joosh the pleather leggins up for another season.

The way to wear leather pants ?
With a slouchy white tee or knit, a big blazer or a long coat.
With sneakers or birkenstocks or loafers or white boots.
It’s almost my uniform, ( nothing wrong with that , means you know your style)
One of my favorites ?
These Zara pleather jeans , I got a size 42 ( so flattering, so comfortable) and these Saba vegan leather pants ( a more narrow leg but still slouchy, I went up a size ).

Styling tips:

  • Keep leather baggy and slouchy, tight = tacky (except leggings).
  • Stick to one piece of leather, it can get too Las Vegas head to toe. Yikes
  • Toss on lots of volume on top when wearing tight leggings.
  • Don’t worry about different textures: it’s good to mix wool, silk, cotton with leather.
  • Stick to dark colours: white leather can look scary and cheap dot com.
  • Add white/cream boots, white mules, white sneakers to lighten it up.
  • Or keep the colours the same as the pants and add black boots or chunky dad sandals.
  • And grab a pleather skirt while you’re at it : bought this Mango skirt and it’s a winner!
  • When in doubt add a long big oversized coat and you’re out the door!
