What: a long sleeve stripe tee
Which: It could navy and white , red and white, brown and white. It should have long sleeves , I feel that’s the way to go. The long sleeve Tee is having a moment right now. ( It seems everyone is wearing a long sleeve white tee. More on that next week!) Love a long sleeve stripe polo shirt too. But it needs to be styled with something edgy or it can look too preppy. Too “done”. A short sleeve stripe tee can sometimes look a bit jaunty and nautical . Meaning ? Too average and non de la non. If you do go for short sleeve make sure it’s slouchy. Oh and beware the boat neck stripe : it’s never flattering ! That wide neck is not fifi approved. NEVER looks good. If you go through my outfits you will see I am NEVER in a boat neck anything. Just saying.
Why: Because stripes look fresh for summer. Because it’s a great way to add “print” into your wardrobe without, you know, resorting to prints ! Haha. Because a stripe long sleeve tee looks low key and casual. It is a great replacement for a jacket/shirt in summer when you want arm coverage . Because who doesn’t love anything that French !
Wear: With jeans, chinos and denim Bermudas. With all your favourite cargo pants. With Balloon pants. Under a blazer or a bomber. It’s a no brainer. Sure;y you know how to wear a stripe? c’mon you can do it ! As long as the colours work with your outfit you can’t go wrong. Just make sure your bottoms are wide and long and slouchy.
Hint: You can also wear the stripe tee as a scarf . A great way to accessorize in a low key way. See street style pics below.

Lots at Zara. Why? They know how to get it right. Styling. Cut. Colours. I have also included a few stripe shirts and bags. Stripe pants? Mmm I am not sure. Actually scary! SO hard to carry off and the potential that you look like you are heading off for a little snooze is real. A stripe blazer? Same thing. Stripe dresses ?Yes, so good.
