What I have loved wearing this season, the pieces I reach for again & again.
Thought I’d share all the pieces I’ve loved wearing this season.
These are pieces that I have had incredible cost per wear . I’ve worn on repeat.
Because they spark joy and I feel good in them.
Plus they work hard and seem to be versatile.
I have chosen these pieces because I know they will be worth investing in, you can wear next year.
I make a point of never recommending anything that is a one season wonder.
My philosophy is to build to a wardrobe.
The cool weather is still with us and these are pieces (I can promise ) you will wear into spring. Then pull out next winter. All great investments.
Oh and the good news is that some are on sale !
( I quite often buy winter pieces now when on sale to wear next winter.)
NOTE: some pieces are not longer available as I bought last year but I have linked similar .
Barrel jeans
In dark denim, in light blue, in brown, white and in grey.
A wardrobe staple : I wear all four ( sorry five!) on repeat . With flats. With heels. With bomber jackets and coats. My most worn bottoms after the miracle barrel leg from Uniqlo ( they are more summery so stored them for a while )(But I’ve pulled out again!). As I mentioned previously barrel leg jeans are here to stay for a while longer , and they are now called classic leg. I don’t spend a lot on jeans: Zara and Uniqlo really getting their fit right. Just up a size so you are not harry high pants !

A bomber jacket:
Have worn this choc brown bomber so so many times. It’s lined and though not super duper warm is great over a fine knit. Love a shorter jacket with barrel jeans. Creates a bit of shape. Looks new. It’s a loose roomy cut so worn done up (with the funnel neck ) not only looks cool but it covers all manner of muffin situations. I am an expert in these things! Haha. Also love wearing this camel bomber. BTW both these bomber jackets are sooo much better IRL. Look more expensive. You will wear into spring for sure over a white tank or tee. This is such a great bomber too !

Coats:
I nabbed this grey peacoat ( below) last winter and it’s perfect to wear with jeans when you don’t want the bulkiness of a big coat. I’ve worn it so many times over a grey knit with grey jeans and brown heels. Love grey also with choc brown, because grey doesn’t always have to be with black. Definitely a big trend winter 27 too. Buy similar here and here.
The coat I reach for if I am rushing out the door ? This one from Assembly on sale here ! In every situation from casual with jeans to going out with leather pants I know it will look good and keep me warm. It’s no brainer dressing !
It’s the casual relaxed shape which makes it so appealing. No shoulder pads but I went up a size and the exaggerated cut in the shoulders is working for me. Wear tossed on my shoulders ( darling why wear a coat when you throw it nonchalantly hanging on your shoulders !) over a light knit going into spring.
Of course my happy place is always in a trench and this one does the trick, long, a bit slouchy , good colour, on sale too.
When in doubt throw on a trench. Perfect for next season too, it’s the perfect trans seasonal all year round piece.

My favourite knits:
Love and adore these Arket knits . I have in 5 colours. Thrilled Arket is now available at TheICONIC. I nabbed the grey this season and it‘s been the missing link in my life with my grey jeans and with my ( last season) Arket peacoat. See above. More Arket knits here. They are always a great cut, never seem to pill and that clever mix of voluminous but not too overwhelming. Such great quality for the price. The other knits I have worn again and again ( and machine washed!) is this brown cashmere knit and cashmere camel knit. Both easy to layer and love the round neck under a bomber /funnel neck.

Leather pants:
Nabbed these brown leather pants early in the season. Similar here. They work with heels and flats. In pleather so they are light and soft and easy to wear. Love leather pants because they add a little edge and something fashiony but never look too dressed up. And these pleather joggers are the best , a casual shape and I’ve worn a lot. Ridiculous price ! And because I love brown leather so much I bought these shorts to wear into spring : So good, with heels of course !

Accessories:
Can we talk bags: Love this one from strand bags namely because it is the perfect match to the Assembly label coat. It’s huge, it’s light , a lovely colour suede and as that price you don’t need to be precious with it.
Also love my ARKET suede bag . I wear it nearly every day. It‘s a great shape and sits flat. A good size and you can wear it on your shoulder or in your crook of your arm. Great quality for the price. It’s a very good dupe for the Phoebe Philo thank you very much ! And of course this oversized brown leather tote on sale …

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
A designer belt ( or three!) Love a designer belt to elevate any fit. Especially with jeans. I wear this brown YSL , this tan YSL and this Valentino belt ( on sale!) almost every day. Love the contrast of denim with a jooshy designer. Wear ALL year round ! BTW My outfit ( below) is the Assembly coat, the Assembly knit, barrel jeans Zara, YSL belt, Zara shoes and the Strandbags suede bag. Scientific test have proved I wear all these things all the time. ( some gifted – lucky me- but I am very careful on what I choose and what suits my style).

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
A Uniqlo white tee.
A special mention goes to these T shirts as I wear these under everything. ALL the time. They are a neat fit. Not really to be worn on their own. Haha. Too clingy on lumps and bumps. They are a layering piece. I wear large. They are such a great cut. I sometimes pull/tug on the sleeves to stretch them out so they sit wider. So good though under a jacket, blazer or even under a knit with the neckline and bottom hanging out. ( of the Tee not me lols).

The white Shoes:
It’s all I wear. (As you can see). Just about every day. For years. Still so right. They lighten the look and add a fashion edge. I rotate between these: Loafers. Lace ups. Kitten heels. And just bought these pointy flats. Been looking and you can’t beat ZARA for price and comfort. Not too white, more a cream. I have round toe flats but I NEEDED pointy. I can sleep at night knowing I have these. Phew. There is an exception to white shoes…These Brown kitten heels: Lived in these slingback kitten heels all season. Still look new ! Even after months of wear. I’ll wear straight into Spring with blue jeans, white tee and blazer.
Sunglasses :
Love the brown shield sunglasses from Zara, these from Le specs are similar and these too. And I have worn these sunglasses so many times ( as you can see !) so I bought one pair for swimming/the beach and another for when I am dressed up. On sale at DJ’s.
