What’s on my own personal wishlist this week?
As a full time shopper – let’s face it – I see a lot of things !
So I have decided just to share what I am lusting after, what I am buying, what I have bought.
Rather than a theme or occasion, a colour, or an item du jour, these are just the BEST pieces I have spied and want to share. At every price…
Though I chose them without an actual theme, it seems by default there is a colour theme : what a surprise ! Haha
And you can guess what it is: Camel, brown, beige and white, a little bit of blue/denim with a pop of red.
But there is a method to the madness : I know I will get great cost per wear because all of these pieces will slot so easily straight into my wardrobe. And yours too.
Trying to be a conscious consumer is not easy right?
My advice : Think before you buy !
Think about what you’re buying and the ways you can wear it, is it versatile?
Hoe many ways can you wear it? Three ways is a good number.
What’s important is getting mileage from your purchases.
So you keep wearing them again and again because you love them and they make you feel good !
Remember to invest early in a trend ( don’t worry I’m here to tell you when I first sniff out a new trend).
Stick to classic versatile colours.
But make sure to update! update! update! to new modern shapes. That is THE most important.
(the fashion edge is coming from the styling and the shapes NOT from kooky colour, pesky prints or frumpy florals).
Apply the table top dressing philosophy ( don’t waist your money on things not seen, hidden under the table).
Use designer bags, shoes and belts to elevate your wardrobe.

Uniqlo pants:
Have been on the hunt for casual pants like this for years. In fact I lie. I have pair that I bought in MUJI about 4 years ago and have nearly killed them. Loved them so much…Wide leg, elastic waist, in great cotton with pockets. Hello ?! Is that too hard to ask? I spied these in store at Uniqlo for a ridiculous price , I know I will live in them. FYI the colour that’s olive is much more a deep brown , excellent work Uniqlo ! I will wear to the beach, every day, summer weekends.

Shoulder pad tee:
I seem to live in shoulder pad tees and tops in summer. ( and under jumpers in winter). They do good things to your arms. Add a fashion edge but in a simple way. I like a sleeveless tank with wide extended shoulders like this but a T shirt in this colour brown with shoulder pads is going to get a good thrashing in my wardrobe . I’ll wear with blue jeans and white jeans but also going into spring under a brown bomber jacket with leather pants or under a blazer. Go up a size. Worth the money for sure.

Bermuda shorts :
Been banging on about Bermuda shorts for years now. Hope you have been listening. And after zooming up the groove richter Bermuda shorts are now peaking into a wardrobe must have. If you haven’t bought any, now is the time. What’s great is that they are a cool alternative to pants in summer and a nice change from skirts. And right now in the chilly weather shorts look great with knee high boots. In summer best with heels or strappy sandals. You want to look sophisticated and dress them up as shorts primarily look casual. Go for grey and drawstring like this or the culottes at Uniqlo. Get in every colour. (Don’t be afraid of cream , I wore them like this last summer. ) and while in Uniqlo you’d better grab the denim culottes too. They are great. You can wear them from bar to the beach ! Haha . Oh and while I am discussing shorts: I bought these brown pleather ones from Zara and I know I will wear from now to December !

Cape coat jacket:
Saw this instore and pounced on it ; love and adore ponchos, capes and trench coats . This is all three ! What’s not to love ? It has check lining too. I had to use all my discipline not to buy it ! Hopefully you will. ( so may clothes so little time!). Don’t wear like this below , eeek, not over a shirt anyway , instead throw it over a plain knit or long sleeve tee. With jeans. With leather pants. Will it keep you warm? maybe. Will it stop the rain? Perhaps. Will you look so casual low key weekend totally chic ? Absolutely !

A line camel cotton skirt:
A missing link in your wardrobe that you didn’t even know you needed ! The A line cotton camel skirt. It’s so hard to find ! They are either too long and too straight, too short or too badly cut. Everybody stop looking. This gets ticks in all the boxes : cotton, pockets, fit n flare, great colour and length . Go up a size so sits lower, look cooler , will sit better. Wear like this into spring with boots and knit. Then like this with a white tank or with the matching top ( please not with a check green shirt ?!). Oh and while you are in Oroton you’d better buy this camel blazer: great quality , great cut, not too structured, it’s a slouchy feel so you can wear on weekends, a pivotal piece in your wardrobe . Yes, wear with a red knit sweater as scarf : I’d go your usual size as it’s pretty oversized.

A trenchcoat:
It’s not really a FiFi Report unless I include a trench coat ! Haha. There are two ( actually make that three!)( why stop at one!) that I think are worth investing in. The first is one is the check car coat from Zara (which I have already mentioned a few weeks ago) and best thing is ….it’s reversible ! Two for the price of one! Love it. The other trench that I think is looking new is from Country Road : A great colour , slouchy, single breasted, longer in length. Love it styled over denim. The other trench I think you will love is from Sportscraft. Double breasted, lined and with epaulettes on the shoulders it is a more classic style. A good length and a great colour (called pebble) : I went up to a size 14 as I wanted it slouchy. Oh and by the way I LOVE these Tony Bianco à la Celine white lace up shoes see below ! Sooo good.

My picks at Zara.
So many great pieces in Zara it can be hard to narrow it down. So this week I have zeroed in on 5 key pieces:
Start with the red cotton shirt. One piece of red is all you really need . You’ll wear it with camel pants and over white Tee shirts and tanks. You could tuck it in or let it hang it out.
Red sandals: Did I say one piece of red? Let’s make it two ! Haha. I have my name on these red sandals for summer. Because at the end of the day accessories like shoes , bags and maybe a red head scarf is how I am going to insert red into wardrobe. And a red flat sandal is THE instant wardrobe updater for summer. Get into it now.
A white collarless shirt: I find collars on shirts can be annoying when you throw a jacket over the top. Too much going on. Keep it clean. Which is why I love this white collarless shirt. It’s the season of the white shirt so get used to it !
The blue high neck blouse: How many blue shirts is too many? Next question please. This shirt has that high (collarless!) funnel neck with a dinky neck tie. I think it’s detachable. This is good. Again layer it under a camel blazer or under a trench. Or under a trouser suit or black with jeans.
If you haven’t bought a crop trench yet ….please don’t cry . Always new ones around : they are constantly being updated. This one is so good , again with that funnel neck and and a low belt. Great colour too. I like the styling here with the blue stripe shirt, the jeans and red sandals. More FiFi approved Zara here.
