Most wanted ! The Instant wardrobe updaters on my wishlist for spring.
It’s that time of year when I am a little tired of my winter clothes.
I am looking for pieces to add a little ooomph to my every day dressing.
Not a whole new wardrobe but just a few things that will inject a little something to spark joy ( god knows we need that in this crazy world right?)
These are the things I am hankering after, pieces that will instantly update my current wardrobe.
Pieces I know I will wear into spring and summer .
In no particular order, just things I have added to my Wishlist. I hope you will love them as well.
Of course I already have a vast wardrobe of key pieces that I will definitely pull out and wear again this summer : And if you are a regular FiFi follower you too should have built a wardrobe great pieces that you know you can wear again this summer. A lace top:
Loving this idea of a touch of lace inspired by The Row. I like that little bit of texture and prettiness hanging out the bottom of a knit or blazer. This Zara dress ( you wear it as a top) has sold out , worn with white pants here (damn it). But I think this might be worth trying as it has that asymmetrical thing about it ! I will wear the black one under a black or brown knit, tee or jacket.
Barrel Jeans in brown.
I love these barrel jeans from Zara, I live in them. I have the Grey, white and blue denim. Do I need them in brown ?
Of course I do ! They are the best cut, loose but not too oversized. Relaxed but cool. A nice change from totally wide leg, the barrel leg are really my version of wearing straight jeans. I LOVE choc brown in summer with a white shirt and white net flats. It feels fresh. I wear a size 42 so they sit lower low on the waist. Buy here ( I haver added to my Pinterest page)or these are fabulous too and these too are a lovely dark brown..
A sporty track jacket a la The Row.
A sporty jacket? I have always loved it and now everyone has gone mad for it! Again, it’s inspired by The Row. It’s all about the funnel neck and the sporty track vibe. I have this from lululemon and I have just ordered this from Uniqlo in white : so chic with black pants. Or with a camel or black A line skirt. With the touch of lace. See below. I’ll wear with heels like these which I wore last summer and LOVED. This is also so chic in the neutral.
Utility vest:
It’s so handy. It gives the coverage and structure of jacket but freedom and easiness of a something sleeveless ! This Zara vest I nabbed last year is baaaaack in stock which is why I am sharing it ! I love it so much I also bought it white on sale. Also have this Uniqlo brown vest. I might get in another colour if they have any left! This is fabulous too. I like this vest too . I will be wearing it with jeans , with a A line denim skirt and with leather shorts.
A brown summer dress:
This summer I need a brown maxi dress. Sure, I’ve already have a few black dresses but choc brown ? Need now. I am going to nab this one from Dissh .It has a FiFi approved neckline ( which means it goes right in at the neck). The shape is great : it’s a casual cut, roomy, lots of volume (you could fit an Birken under there !) but it’s not too overwhelming.
I will wear with birks for a more dressed down lewk or with silver T bar flats for a dressier take. This is also fabulous. And this one great for high summer ( on sale !) There are so many great brown summer dresses around I could almost devote a whole post : see my picks below.
Suede jacket
Yes, suede is still happening for spring. Maybe you might even wear it into summer if you live in Tassie or NZ. You will definitely wear a suede jacket next winter. Good time to invest now. How to wear it? With a white tee and jeans. Like this over all white. With bermuda shorts and a tank and heels like this. With slouchy white jeans. Love this one, and here.
Accessories :
A big tan/ brown bag:
There’s something about oversized totes; I think they work with all the oversized clothes and the proportions look right. Love a bag in brown at the moment. Actually that’s not true: I have ALWAYS loved a brown bag! Thats because they work with camels and browns, with denim and with all your black and white. Love this one, it’s a great price and chic. This is great too. I will be investing in an every day -toss- it -all -in – brown tote for sure.
Groovy big sunglasses:
It’s the one way to instantly update everything ! New shape sunglasses are pivotal. I love these big aviator style and the lens in brown rather than black. This season it’s the bigger the better in the sunglasses department. These are fabulous too.
A pendant:
They are everywhere. I love a minimalists aesthetic so usually I am happy just wearing a major cuff and dramatic rings. But loving a modern simple pendant this season. There is something chic about this trend, as it’s not too fussy. A great way to a little personality. I have ordered this one and this one too. Love this too.
White Mesh flats:
Loved wearing white mesh flats last summer: A bit dressier than sandals. Not as hot as loafers as they have their own inbuilt airconditioning ! As you know white shoes are an instant wardrobe updater . They lighten the lewk. And because these shoes are see through they look a lot less white. These are great.
Loafers slides/boatshoes.
Loafers are chic, trans-seasonal and a great alternative to ballet flats. I was looking for another pair of white loafers to wear into spring when I found these : white loafer mules ! Now you’re talking ! Summery, chic and so easy to slide into.
The other shoe I was thinking about was the white/cream boat shoe. The brown boatshoes are very cool but sometimes can look at bit heavy on the foot going into spring.
A cool woven belt:
I think this is a chic little accessory which will be so handy. You can wear with camel chinos and jeans of course but I do love the idea of wearing a rope belt around a blazer or around a sleeveless belt. Just a simple chic way to update yiour look into next season. Buy here and here.
