Do you know the Uniqlo : C collection?

It’s designed by “Renowned British designer Clare Waight Keller who introduces a modern collection of elevated essentials that captures the way we move through the city.” Yes, please !

Love this new collection : the cut and quality and the attention to detail are incredible for the price. Some of my favourite pieces I have ever bought over the years and have worn to death are from the collaborations at Uniqlo.

Here’s what to buy in the latest collection :

The grey coat :
It’s a relaxed easy coat . Go up two sizes as it needs to be long, long, long and look slouchy. You want the drama. That’s when things looks expensive ; when they have an ease about it. It has a belt but I love that you can do up the top button ; looks a bit more polished. Wear with everything you own: from jeans to leather pants to skirts and dresses.
Love it in grey for me , but if you don’t already have a camel coat get that colour. Go big or go home. Buy here

The tweed blazer:
Love a black and white blazer. It’s an oversized cut. That means it looks effortless and feels easy. Which means relaxed. Which translates as versatile right? It’s not a corporate tight blazer that is stitched up and tailored. You wear this like a short coat almost. Love it with the grey hoodie underneath it and with matching pants and sneakers. But I’d also wear it with a slouchy long black poloneck knit and the lululemon black shiny leggings and loafers. Or toss the blazer over a grey tee and white jeans. Go for a size up as Uniqlo is on the small size. Also love this pinstripe blazer too. Both do the same job. Buy here

The A line skirt:
You need this skirt in khaki (maybe navy). It’s a great cut. (Very CelinePphoebe era)( I have an old Zara skirt that I pull out every summer ). A wrap skirt A line is always so easy to wear. Versatile shape . Can be casual or dresssed up.  It’s in trans-seasonal fabric. It’s a great length. And pockets!! The belt is great. You wear with a white shoulder pad tee and birks right now in summer ( of course!). With white strappy sandals and a white tank.  In autumn with a short sleeve olive knit and denim jacket. In winter with knee high boots and all things Khaki. ( see my picks below) Buy here

The Khaki 3 way half coat /parka:
You know I love the idea of a sporty jacket with a dressier skirt and white mules. It’s about contrasts and mixing it up. These style parkas are not just for birdwatchers haha. So I would be wearing this olive parka with kitten heels and  leather skirt. With leather pants but also with jeans and white loafers.  What’s great about this jacket part from the sporty vibe is that it has a sneaky removable vest so you can wear it three ways. How good is that? Buy here

The dress:
A long sleeve dress for winter: Yes, please. This is what I like to call a fit n flare dress : It fits in the waist and then flares out. This is good. It’s a flattering cut. And when I say that I mean it’s slimming. ( which is not the end game but this dress will do that). The length is great. The fabric easy and comfortable . Wear it with flat knee high boots or with loafers or pointy flats. Go for the Olive as it’s not black ( though the black is great sometimes a long sleeve black dress makes you look like a Greek mama at a funeral ) and the grey is chic too. Buy here.

The rib knit:
I have some Uniqlo rib knits from years ago that I still pull out each winter. They’re a great layering piece to go under all your coats and jackets. They are a good counter balance with all the oversized jackets and slouchy pants.
Don’t be scared of rib knits. They are neat – yes – but the rib makes the cling less clingy ! Scientific tests have proved it . Me ! They skim over the bumps rather than exaggerate them. It’s about a sense of effortlessness and when pieces look tight , feel tight , then you don‘t look relaxed. Or expensive! So go big in this. The other great thing about this knit is that it has FiFi approved neckline : meaning ? It’s NOT a bad boat neck. It sits in at the neck. Get these in olive, brown and black. Go up a size or two I wear the polo neck rib knit in XL ! Buy here
