Steal her style : The updated cardigan !

What to wear?
This time of year can be tricky .
It’s still warm but I am so ready to start wearing winter clothes.
Hello slouchy cardigan !
Perfect for Autumn days with summer pants and sandals.
All loyal FiFi followers know I am not a fan of cardigans: they’re frumpy, floppy ( Iike I can be most days!) and not easy to style for that reason. Never do anyone any favours ( not even Michelle Obama!)
BUT.
As you may have noticed last winter the cardigan is baaaack on the horizon.
In a new modern shape.
Which means there is a new way to wear it. New proportions to play with.
You want it to be cut more like a blazer with a little structure. Love the big sleeves or something with drama. It can be roomy (of course) . A simple V neck is good and it needs to be short. As in not over your bottom or to your knees as we wore a few years ago ( remember those?!)
I like this one that sits over the waist to the hips because it is structured and sits like a jacket.
A shorter length cardigan is also good and means it can be worn with high waist pants and jeans.
It’s about creating a waist ( you may not have but will !) where the cardigan and pants meet.

Styling tips:
Layer the cardigan over a white or same colour neat tank like this for added coverage.
Next pull on white white jeans or slouchy chinos. Blue jeans are great and so are pleather pants.
Grab your tan sandals. Anything will do here , it can be Birks or strappy flat sandals or sneakers.
The flat shoes look modern and the colour works back with the cardigan.
Add socks if you’re cold. Not joking it’s a thing.
A brown bag works here : it will tone in but it does not need to match exactly.
Easy.
Now you can steal her style!
