1.Shoulder Bag // 2. Blue Shirt // 3. Cashmere Cardigan // 4. Trench // 5. Slingback Pumps // 6. White Jeans // 7. Belt // 8. Brown Turtleneck // 9. Ballet Flats // 10. Brown Striped Sweater // 11. Cream Turtleneck // 12. Grey Coat // 13. Shoulder Bag // 14. Camel Trousers // 15. Sunglasses // 16. Striped Long Sleeve Top // 17. Flared Jeans // 18. Loafers

A peacoat:
It’s more casual than a blazer but it’s not as big as a coat. Usually double breasted.  Long enough to cover your butt. It looks great undone, over a white tee or a knit . Wear with jeans, with leather pants. Or with a flirty skirt and knee high boots. Love it in grey because it’s looks so chic with black, white and your new silver shoes.

White jeans:
Pivotal to your wardrobe. As relaxed as blue jeans but just a little chicer. Fabulous in winter with camel knits. And clogs or any flats. Perfect in summer with a tank and sandals. Go for a wide leg or just straight. Believe me when I say white jeans look great on any size, age or shape. Just sayin.

A trench :
Of course. You can never have too many trench coats. I’ve got 10 and counting ! This is the one to dream about. Yes, even Burberry update their shapes to look modern. ( Reminder: classics date if you didn’t get the memo).  A longer length, a bigger sleeve, wider shoulder and double breasted is what you need. Go for tan or beige or camel because outerwear needs to make a statement ( and you can sneak black under it !). It doesn’t have to be raining to wear a trench. Toss with jeans and sneakers or over a chic black dress and heels. Done.

camel pants :
You need camel pants. Instant wardrobe updaters. No need to buy everything new every season. Invest in a one single statement piece like camel pants or wide leg jeans. Watch as they immediately joosh up your current wardrobe. Camel pants with your old black blazer? Yes ! Camel pants with a neat white sweater ? Yes ! Camel pants with a stripe top. Love it ! Go for wide leg and slouchy. They look great with both white heels or sneakers.

Wide leg jeans:
Goodbye low rise skinny. (But you knew that). Hello and kiss on both cheeks to wide leg high waist jeans. If you had to choose one single thing to inject a modern edge into your wardrobe? High waist wide jeans. Tuck your old tops in: you’ll get another season from them. Coats, blazers and almost everything you own will get an instant update from new shape jeans.

A slouchy sweater:
This knit is not a tight little number but rather a slouchy cut that looks effortless . A poloneck cream sweater is like a reflector on your face. Takes 10 years off. I should know. Wear it like you do a white tee: Under everything ! It’s all I wear. All winter. From day to evening !

Stripe Tee:
It’s all the print you need in your wardrobe. Not joking !  Update your stripe tee so that it’s long sleeve. Chicer, less jaunty , more sophisticated .Works with everything from jeans to camel pants to a denim skirt . Loves being under a trench. Or a camel blazer. The plain white across the neckline is chic and makes it so versatile.

Cashmere cardigan:
I’m not a fan of cute teeny cardigans. Usually frumpy. Hard to carry off. Tricky to style. Which is why you need to update to a modern new shape: like this cardigan with major sleeves.  In a divine beige. You’ll wear it over a white tee with just one single button done up. With black leather pants. With camel pants. With high waist white jeans. hint: wear this cardigan sitting on your shoulders over a white knit or tied like a scarf. Totally chic.

Blue shirt :
Yes, I include a blue shirt in every list of wardrobe must haves . Why? Because it’s a soupçon of colour. Light blue works with denim and loves camel. Adores choc brown and will lighten up black. A blue shirt can be worn open over a white tank like a jacket. Or tuck it in to high waist jeans and toss on a camel blazer. Try a blue shirt as a layering piece UNDER a knit and let the shirttails hang out. Hint:A blue shirt as the vital third colour to break up the monotone and neutrals.

Shoes :
You want white or cream. Beige is good. Tan is chic. Black works with black. Think of metallic shoes as a neutral. They will lighten up your wardrobe. Instantly update it. Go from drab to fab just by adding cream shoes. Need a heel? The days of sky high teetering stiletto heels are over. What’s modern right now is a low kitten or block heel. White flats, loafers, and ballet flats . Just as sophisticated, just as chic. Immensely walkable.

Bags:
A shoulder bag and a cross body bag that you also wear as a clutch. It’s all you need in your wardrobe. My advice? Spend as much as you can on a designer bag. You wear it every day. With everything. It will elevate all that you own. Cost per wear is low. Let’s face it a good designer bag can take the thrashing : you can wear it every day for years. They never fall apart. Quality darling ! Go for tan or a lighter beige. It will add va va voom to whatever you throw on. Lighten up the black, fabulous with the neutrals. Hint: A black shoulder bag is handy as it will go day to evening.
