Margot Robbie Is British Vogue’s August Cover Star.
‘On-screen as a ballsy supervillain or as a courageous producer in her own right, Margot Robbie defiantly asserts the role of women in Hollywood at its most action-packed and provocative’.
Love this glamourous shoot !

On women in action: “Those scenes, where everything’s exploding around you, and you make it just in time, those massive epic war hero runs? Those movie moments? Girls never get those.”

On Producing “From a business or statistical standpoint, those are the high-paying jobs. So I really want to advocate for women writing big blockbuster action films. And then also, the perception that women aren’t interested in action is ridiculous.”

On being putting in a box “I have a real aversion to being put in a box. The minute someone sums me up in two words…I want to show them I’m the exact opposite. As soon as you have some success in one type of role, people want you to keep doing that thing. Which I think would just be… boring.”

On considering slowing down: “I don’t know if it’s because I’m in my thirties now, or because life took… a very strange turn. Over Covid, I was home for longer than I’ve ever stayed anywhere. I’ve been moving at a million miles an hour for as long as I can remember. It can feel a little scary sometimes. But now I finally feel like it’s OK to… sit still? Or even sit this one out. That’s a feeling I haven’t had before.”

On her next ambition: “I want to direct. I’d like to try writing. Those would be huge challenges, which to be honest, I might not pull off. I also think directing is a privilege and not a right. But I have a story that’s been in my head for years. And I need to put pen to paper and see if it looks ridiculous or not.”
