Need now: Denim pieces to live in #luxetoless.

Every week I ponder about we all really want to wear. Right now.
What will help FiFi Report readers get through this crazy life !
This week it has to be denim.
It is perfect for this kooky time in every way.
Trans-seasonal. Ageless. Casual. Cool.
Just the thing you want throw on in cold/warm/chilly spring weather.
In this crazy casual covid life when you don’t want get too dressed up so denim does the trick.
I decided to hunt down all sorts of pieces in denim from hats to bags, to overalls, boiler suits to jacket. In a mix of blue denim, black denim and some fabulous white denim. Bien sur.
These are all pieces you will love to easily mix in with your own wardrobe to add a little edge. Remember that’s the way to joosh up your wardrobe:  update the basics instead of rushing out and buying crazy colours and frumpy florals. Buy better, fewer pieces.
The big styling trick?
Although denim with denim is a cool look, and works back with black , blue denim is actually more in love than ever with white,  camel and tan. Of course !
Note to self:  That’s how I will be wearing denim.
See last week’s report here on how to wear it here.

Have a great weekend! X

Your shopping list:
A denim jacket:
Sure you can go for the classic denim jacket (check out the SHOP pages!) in an oversized 80’s style or a more fitted look here but I like this one from Anine Bing that is more like a loose blazer. Looks great over a white Tee and with leather pants (my current uniform).  Zara also has this cool blouson style denim jacket here. More on the SHOP pages.
A denim dress:
Love this black denim dress from Arket. It will look great with white sneakers or strappy sandals. It’s got lovely big sleeves so it looks chic. Easy to throw on. Hides alot !
A denim shirt :
I will be wearing a denim shirt – a men’s shirt is always good . You can do the double denim with jeans, or try with chinos. It’s best to tuck it in like this at Zara. Love it with a trench like this here at Nili Lotan.  Or try an oversized denim shirtdress at Thakoon. Love, Love, love his clothes. Great prices, great quality and he has nailed all the elevated basics you need right now. Check out it out here.
A boilersuit:
Got to love a denim boiler suit.  Talk about easy to style! You just zip it up and then pull on shoes. Out the door. Suddenly you’re chic and modern and look kinda cool. I love the one from Everlane in white as well as denim. The short sleeves give good coverage and it will give you a waist even if you don’t have one. Wear with sneakers, sandals and mules. Also I do love the white denim overalls at Cotton on. In summer over a white tee it will be perfect on weekends. Check out my FiFi post from last year here. If you bought a denim boiler suit when first instructed here you’d still be wearing it ! Just saying.
A straight denim skirt:
Much prefer a denim skirt without a front split. It’s much chicer. A denim pencil skirt should also go in at the knees ( that weird boxy look is not right). I think the Camilla Marc skirt is perfect, very similar to the fabulous wardrobeNYC skirt last year.  Wear with a white sweater now or later when it’s warm with a white shirt/denim shirt and white mules.
A pair of wide leg jeans: So you have straight jeans but do you have side pocket wide legs jeans? They are just a little more sophisticated and chicer than your average jeans.  You need them. They’re what you want to wear with a pretty blouse going out for dinner ( You will soon Melbourne , hang in there!) with strappy sandals or mules.
A slouchy jean: It could be pleat front jeans. You can’t go past denim joggers right now to wear instead of trackies. Because they look great with a big cream sweater.
Denim shorts: Oh they scare me. Not really fifi approved if they are short. lols. But I do love the denim culottes here and straight shorts here. Plus the denim shorts here at otherstories are great. Best idea? Just cut off your old jeans to knee length. Done!
Accessories:
How cute is this denim bucket hat from Glassons? Love the denim canvas tote from Baggu for $34. Yes, you read right. Do you know Baggu? They do the best bags at cheap chic prices, especially love this taupe tote , check out their fabulous canvas bags here, perfect for the beach/markets/everyday.
Lots more fabulous pieces here on the SHOP page or cheap chic wishlist page here.
