Wanted to make Pear crumble.
So I got on the google machine and found this recipe I’ve adulterated from the dirty whisk
Delicious and so easy but very sweet, I’d probably halve the sugar.

You need for one crumble:
5 to 6 pieces of fruit pear and apples: I didn’t even peel them
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons of corn flour
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla essence.

Crumble Topping
1 cup plain flour
1 cup oats
3/4 cup sliced almonds, split into a 1/2 cup and a 1/4 cup.
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon salt
16 tablespoons butter, room temperature I used about 100 grams of butter.

• Preheat oven to 180
• Cut up pears and toss with cornflour, lemon juice, sugar and vanilla essence
• Toss in a saucepan and let the fruit cook and soften until tender. about 5 minutes
• Meanwhile make topping: Combine oats, flour and sugar and butter.
• Add in baking powder and spices with some of the almonds.
• Using fingertips, rub butter into oat mixture until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
• Spread crumbly topping mixture over the fruit filled pan, into an even layer.
• Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup of almond slices over the top of the pan.
• Bake for 35-45 minutes or until fruit layer is bubbling, and the crumble is golden brown and crunchy.
• Let cool for about 5 mins and then guzzle up with lashings of cream.
