I’m having a little love-in with designer belts I’m having a little love-in with designer belts ! It’s one of those accessories that adds personality and instantly elevates everything you own. Because a little bit of luxury goes a long way right ? As US Vogue writes “Jewelry, bags and shoes get all the love, but a statement belt can really make a look. Think of them like jewelry for your clothes—they’re worth investing in.” No wonder belts were all over the spring 2026 runways at Ralph Lauren, Celine, Khaite, and Chloé. My advice ; go for a tan, beige or choc brown belt. It’s a clever way to add another colour to your outfits . If you have alot browns & neutrals ( me ! )a tan belt slips effortlessly into your everyday wardrobe. They are my go to ! My most favorite item in my wardrobe. ( if you hadn’t noticed !) summer to winter , autumn to spring. A major constant in my life = my style When in doubt; I always grab a trench. These two wardrobe essentials need to be updated into new modern shapes - because (as I’m always repeating!) classics date, you can’t wear them forever . Jeans , tee shirts, trenchcoats, black pants, knits and blazers all have a use by date ! One day the pieces you’ve always worn suddenly feel a bit daggy, a bit wrong, a bit blah right ? You don’t feel good. You can’t put your finger on it. After all, these are classics and you’re supposed to be able to wear them forever. Then you try to fix the situation with too many silly accessories, god forbid with bright colours. Wrong ! The solution: update all your favorite classics into new modern exciting shapes. Jeans right now , so cool in a barrel shape, in dark denim . A T-shirt that’s slouchy, an interesting texture. Loving the summer weather (of course!) but I decided that I was in need of a little pick me up! This fabulous brown shoulder pad tee @hm was just the thing to joosh up my wardrobe! Great colour , slouchy cut and shoulder pads = FiFi approved. I’ve styled it with one of my favorite white jeans ( witchery!) davidjones ( last winter) , back with all of my chic brown accessories: bag, shoes & belt . It works , easy ! Remember white jeans work in summer and winter - with a grey peacoat , with a trench , a denim shacket and always with knits ! Swipez vous 👉👉 What to look for? It’s my short jacket era ! Feels fresh & new a It’s my short jacket era ! Feels fresh & new after years of long blazers. Don’t get me wrong I still love & adore long jackets & coats. But right now the shorter jacket is just so chic. And it’s all I keep wearing to be honest. Swipez vous for all the ways I’ve been styling a short jacket and you get the idea ! Of course when I sniff out a trend you had best get cracking : invest early in a trend and get years of wear . Which short jacket ? I am talking about a utility jacket, a short trench, a crop leather peacoat or a bomber. It might even be a short blazer. It should sit ( more or less) on the waist. Choose all the FiFi approved colours; Camel, cream, chocolate, brown or khaki. Black is ok. Maybe white. Always beige. It might have pockets, epaulettes, or a cinched in waist. It might be a shacket or a barn jacket.  Look for cotton, for wool twill, for denim. Maybe leather. Chanel style tweed ? Yes. But be careful they can look frumpy ( can be tricky to style : you need something edgy like jeans or leather ). Tip: the hem of the jacket doesn’t need to meet the top of your pants or skirt. It’s fine to show a little bit of a white tee/knit or even lace ! A long knit in winter looks great under a crop jacket: it works! It’s just about getting your eye used to the different styling & new proportions . I’ll post links of any pieces still available! Found : the chicest raincoat ! Can we talk about Found : the chicest raincoat ! Can we talk about this gorgeous chocolate brown ? Of course when I saw a rain jacket in that divine colour du jour I pounced on it ! But it’s not just a pretty face 😜 This cocoon rain coat @lululemonausnz is also very practical .. good news for bad weather! It’s Shoesday ! If you’ve been following me It’s Shoesday ! If you’ve been following me for a long time you know I am obsessed with white shoes : they’re instant wardrobe updaters! What’s to love about a white shoe ( ok , two !): they’ll inject a fashion edge and joosh up anything you wear. They lighten up your look , break up all your neutrals or black. Add an all important third colour to monotone outfits. White shoes are (almost !) all I ever wear. Which is why I thought it was a good idea to invest a pair of designer white/cream heels that are great quality , to handle the constant thrashing & repeat wear ! You won’t see me wearing a lot of black on here. You won’t see me wearing a lot of black on here. Why ? Because for a start black can look a little hard against your face sometimes. Secondly black actually does not photograph very well . It’s tricky. An outfit can look good IRL but put it on & try to photograph it & black can sometimes look like a snoozefest. Nigh nigh 🤣 Which is why it’s important to invest in black pieces with texture, shine or embellishment. Or strong exaggerated shapes . Something interesting happening otherwise it can be BORING! Which bring me to this fabulous black top @theiconicau : it has big dramatic sleeves ✔️ In an interesting satiny shiny fabric ✔️ It’s structured so it sits well, looks expensive, keeps its shape. ( it won’t look floppy even if you are haha)✔️ Won’t cling on things you need to hide ( I’m an expert in that department !)✔️ The sleeves add drama & give good muffin arm coverage ✔️ It’s transeasonal ; It won’t look too summery when you go out for dinner as the weather chills ✔️ So many different ways to wear it !
