* Think tonal dressing rather exactly matching colours.

* So browns & caramels with white are all living their best life when they’re together.

* Roll up the hem of the cargo pants so it’s a bit more sporty luxe . It’s good to show the ankle

* Shoes changeth the outfit. the white Net mesh flats & loafers work with the crop pants because you see a bit of ankle. There’s skin/space to create drama.

* a designer belt @hermes elevates the cargo pants.

* a white round neck tee is pivotal in your wardrobe. It lightens up the look, works back with the shoes. Adds a third colour. A casual edge !

* Choose accessories like bags, belts & sunglasses in the same tones & colours. Looks chic and makes dressing so easy. What’s not to love about that ?!

I actually WEAR my wardrobe. Even repeat wear.

So when I choose anything: I really think about how it will fit in my wardrobe. How I can wear it multiple ways.
How I can get maximum mileage out of it.
Which is why you see me here wearing lots of favorite pieces again & again in different ways.
Because isn’t that how real women dress?

Let’s talk about the jeans.
I think you will agree with me that barrel jeans are instant wardrobe updaters !
So comfortable. So chic. Feel new. Look cool.
You can see 👉 swipe I’m wearing the jeans with all sorts of jackets including the vest, a black blazer, crop trench and long white trench. Or just with a simple white top .
The point ?
These jeans hold their own with whatever you’re wearing.
And I think the shorter length is so right in summer with white strappy heels (the other favorite thing that I can’t stop wearing!) but also with brown mules and pointy kitten heels.

Let’s talk about the utility vest / jacket.
Love this trend : it’s practical AND cool.
It’s all about a short crop jacket with pockets.
(How much do we LOVE pockets ?)
Perfect for this spring weather to layer over a tee or knit.

The groovy alternative to a blazer you want a sleeveless vest like this or go for a crop trench, shacket or barn jacket.
Love it in a neutral ( duh of course 😂) but khaki or denim is chic too.

A blazer and jeans. It really is one of the best wardrobe pairings:
So easy and chic. It has basically been my uniform for years and probably yours too , right? But here’s the thing : You need to update these pieces every 5 years or so to the new modern shapes. It’s the FiFi philosophy: update the classics. Update your styling. This is not the same old jeans and blazer. The jeans ? They are cargo jeans, slouchy and baggy. In a lighter wash. (If you’re not into cargo jeans then the usual wide leg/ barrel/ straight jeans are also right). The blazer? It‘s slouchy and long but with sharp shoulders. ( add a white tank under there so you can wear the jacket undone…) Love the contrast of the strict tailoring of the jacket with the casualness of the cargo pants and sneakers. The styling trick :
Add a pop of colour with a handbag. It adds a third colour and breaks up the monotone, adds an unexpected touch. Then just add whatever jewellery you like ! Done: Now you can steal her style .

But what does that mean??

It means investing in colours that are versatile.
And colours that look expensive.
camel. white. black. Grey. Navy. Khaki. White
Hot pink ?
Never looks expensive unless it is.
(Same with bright blues, purple & neon green).

Most importantly these“ expensive” colours are also the most versatile!
They’re easy to style, to mix & match.
You can throw them together and they just….work.
Which means you get mileage from your wardrobe.
Fantastic cost per wear.
You look chic.
Getting dressed is effortless.
And you really WEAR your wardrobe. On repeat.

The best news?
When you have a wardrobe of expensive colours there is no need to rely on kooky colours, pesky prints or frumpy florals to look farshun !(Too tricky. Never versatile. Aging).

The fashion edge comes instead from modern updated shapes , silhouettes and the new ways of styling.

Oh and if you stick to this FiFi philosophy then shopping is so much easier !

Perfect for spring, they’re a great alternative to a blazer;
you still get the benefits of tailoring without the formality of a jacket. And they’re a great layering piece in this spring weather.

This cool utility vest @zara gets lots ticks !
* In a fabulous neutral colour ✔️
* A sporty metal zip that tones into fabric✔️
* Wide shoulders so gives good silhouette✔️
* The groovy utility pockets & drawstring hem give it a cool sporty spice vibe ✔️
* It balloons out at the back ( yes so do I 😂)✔️
* But the volume at the back adds drama.✔️
* the exaggerated proportions work with a pencil skirt.✔️
* You can easily layer it over a shoulder pad tee or simple beige tee or even a knit. ✔️
* Wear it undone so it looks low key & relaxed✔️
* You can wear it with a skirt and jeans or white pants.

It’s raining , which can only mean one thing :
A trench !
And this , my friends , is the best one.
( I should know : I’m obsessed with trenchcoats !)
It’s chic, it’s white & it’s actually …practical .
Whhaaat?!
Pretty much rainproof, it even has a detachable hood.
Plus I love the fabulous grosgrain belt with a chic silver buckle ( very Prada!) swipe 👉👉👉

So versatile it’s light enough to wear in summer with jeans & a white tee or with a pencil skirt and strappy heels.
In winter ? I’ll wear with knit & pleather pants.

The styling tips :
It’s about investing in fabulous outerwear like a trench in a light colour as it lifts your whole lewk ( & it’s what people see first ).
Update jeans to a new modern cut like baggy or barrel.
Add white heels & a tan bag.
Belt is optional with jeans.
It’s three colours on the body : done !

You know how I love Bermuda shorts.
And you know how I adore a vest.
How I am obsessed with choc brown khaki …

You can imagine the excitement when I found all three of my favorites in one single lewk!

And the good news is they are now on sale. Yay.
You need them in your life ! ( I do anyway !)
This fit is going to get so much wear in summer when it’s hot & I want to look chic but also low key and cool.

And remember the great thing about a matching set: You can wear them together or break them up into lots of different looks.

How to wear them together:
With a white tee & white shoes of course.
You want to lighten it up and keep it clean & simple. Add a bag that tones in , cool sunglasses and you’re out the door.

Swipe 👉 I’ve styled the shorts on their own with a different oversized white statement tee ( also from @arketofficial last season) and with a chic brown shoulder bag & fav white shoes. I’ll wear with a white tank in the hot peak of summer.

I’ll also wear the vest with a white tee and jeans. Or in winter the vest will work with black pants and over a tonal knit. It’s trans-seasonal !
One of things I’m always asking myself before I buy anything: how many ways can I wear it ? Can I wear it summer and winter ? You want mileage from your wardrobe & great cost per wear. It’s the FiFi philosophy!
