You’re welcome. Love this knit for a few reasons but what drew me to it apart from the colour of course was the fact it has shoulder pads ( & you know how I love a shoulder pad ). How cool is that. It’s one of those knits you can wear on its own with jeans, with a skirt or with slouchy pants: it doesn’t need a jacket to help it make a statement. You just throw it on and out the door . But when it does get cold it will be absolutely perfect under the choc brown coat : a colour match in heaven ! Swipez vous Styling tips: * Try a front tuck with high waist and/or barrel jeans ( this knit loves any shade of denim). * Or wear the knit long and loose and hanging out over a pleat skirt swipe 👉👉👉 * Love brown & grey together. Let’s talk belts. Why? Because accessories can m Let’s talk belts. Why? Because accessories can make or break an outfit . And belts can be a sneaky secret weapon in effortless dressing. That’s because a belt can work just like jewelry. Can be glamorous but somehow a little more low key and minimal. Which I like. It’s like wearing jewelry but not too flashy or over top right ? A designer belt works wonders in your wardrobe: adds a farshun edge, pulls an outfit together & elevates the lewk. You can use it to add colour and texture and take your outfit to the next level. Oh and they can keep your pants up too ! Haha. The YSL hardware logo acts like a piece of jewellery. Sometimes that’s all you need. Not too dressed up. Or over accessorized. It’s a little hint of suede ( huge story right now in fashion ) ( if you didn’t know !) & the all important touch of designer luxe. I’ve been loving this @ysl tan suede belt because it jooshes up everything! From jeans to chinos, shorts to classic pants or even cinched in over a sweater . The best thing about investing in a designer belt : you can wear it ALL year, whatever the season , whatever the weather , wherever you’re going. Day to evening. Work to weekend. Summer to winter. It’s Autumn ! As much as I love summer I’m dyi It’s Autumn ! As much as I love summer I’m dying to wear winter clothes. So I’m kind of mixing it up depending on the temperature. The best news is that it’s jeans & T shirt weather. (With the occasional crop trench & blazer !) It’s cool enough for jeans right now which is great because I love wearing barrel leg jeans especially in brown. (Did you manage to nab these ones before they sold out @hm . They’re so good !)( add yr name to be notified) And this fabulous white tee ? It’s a winner ! And finally back in stock @lululemonausnz It’s organic cotton with a tiny bit of elastane so it’s incredibly soft and easy to wear. The cut is sooo great : slouchy but not overwhelming. Skims but doesn’t cling. Easy to tuck in. The roomy sleeves give good arms. The neckline sits so well (FiFi approved!) It’s the perfect tee to wear right now on its own and then later as a layering piece under a blazer or coat. Styling tips: Roll up the sleeves a little of the tee, looks styled & polished . Add pointy white shoes for instant cool . A designer belt @ysl @netaporter elevates the lewk & adds a contrast to the jeans. A crop trench & wide leg jeans. What’s not to lo A crop trench & wide leg jeans. What’s not to love about those two pieces together ?! Easy, relaxed, low key dressing .. The crop trench ? It needs to be an exaggerated cut : you want big sleeves , an oversized cut , it is NOT a neat tight jacket. It should have swing or volume . Short is good, it works with high waist jeans & pants because they meet in the middle ! A self belt on the jacket is good but not compulsory. This is from @acnestudios about 5 years old and one of my favorites jackets ever! So versatile, can be casual on weekends but I also wear it out at night with a chic blouse, slouchy pants & heels. It’s a transeasonal piece so I’ll wear it over a white tee now but later in winter over a knit with leather pants & loafers. The jeans ? These are a few season old from @cosstores_au . Such a great buy. The side pockets & flat front make them more like denim pants - a bit dressier than your usual jeans. This is good. Day to evening in a flash ! Love the wide leg and the floppy light denim. Great while the weather is still warm. They work with both heels or flats. styling tips Think three colours on the body : denim, camel & white . Pull on your fav white tee and white mules, grab a tan bag and you’re good to go. I’ve been banging on about a crop trench and why you should buy one for years - and they’re still so right ! It’s a barn jacket ! A mix between a peacoat , It’s a barn jacket ! A mix between a peacoat , utility jacket, parka and a Barbour. And it’s the coolest piece in your new season wardrobe… It’s not a blazer but just as versatile, it’s not a parka but just as casual. It feels new, looks low key & is totally practical too. I’m a sucker for anything utility, anything with pockets. Anything that you can just toss on. And instantly look cool. So you can’t afford @prada or @therow ? Please don’t cry : grab this fabulous men’s jacket @uniqloau . It is called a utility blouson and you need to get the colour “brown” ( surprise!) and in a size large. Yes, it’s menswear but it’s best to go big or go home . That’s because you need an exaggerated shape so it looks fashiony. So you don’t look like the Queen at Balmoral. Or you’re handing out prizes for best cakes at the local show. (Nothing wrong with either but my aim here is to help you look fabulously chic and cool). How to style it ? Over a white tee in autumn , over a knit in winter. Think about wearing it with heels and a pencil skirt: it’s the contrast and juxtaposition of looks that make it cool. I’ve also styled it with black barrel leg pants (thank you @lululemonausnz) and with wide leg jeans @cosstores_au . I’ll wear in winter with pleather pants & with a pleather skirt & knee high boots. Styling tips: Undo and then turn back the cuffs to show off the cord lining. Push up the sleeves . It has a khaki check lining so it’s a jacket that will work with all the colours of your wardrobe. Get a big size so it looks cools and slouchy. You could even belt it in over a pencil skirt. Prada showed it with sheer skirt and black pointy heels . Which is ALL the colours I have in my wardrobe. haha Styling tips: * Go for baggy or straight jeans, barrel or wide leg: both are right. Long is good. Crop jeans above the ankle are fine ( it’s the in-between non length that’s trouble!) * White shoes lighten the look and extend the white of the jeans. * Love the idea of a grey tee as it is NOT too matchy match with white jeans : A little bit of grey adds depth. * Tuck in your grey tee or knit. ( a white tee or choc brown knit though would both work here too). * Belt optional: Just because you have belt loops doesn’t mean you need to wear a belt. * Make sure your outerwear is making a statement: A divine choc brown jacket is the stand out piece. * Love the idea of matching your fabulous suede bag to your jacket …( but not your shoes)(it’s either bag OR shoe) * Add brown sunglasses to go back with the delicious brown  ( black sunglasses here? Not wrong but brown sunglasses take it to the next level and finish the lewk). * Stick to 3 colours on the body: grey, white and chocolate. All so chic together. * FiFi philosophy: Keep the styling simple, the only thing classic here are the colours : it’s modern updated shapes that make the fashion statement. ( apart from world peace !) This little number : It’s @lululemonausnz. It’s like the sister skirt to daydrift pants . Which we all loved right?! What’s to love : * The pockets : if god was a woman there’d be pockets in everything! * The cut ; it’s slightly Aline so it’s not straight up and down. * The wrap: makes it more casual. It sits neatly across so when you walk you don’t flash anything. They call it a ‘faux wrap’ as it’s stitched in place. * The length: it’s very long , chic length. * The colour: it’s FiFi approved . Loving a sleeveless vest at the moment. (Actually Loving a sleeveless vest at the moment. (Actually I think it should be called a sleeveless jacket 😜?!) It’s one of the pieces that works so well going into this autumn weather : it’s really a blazer without sleeves ! What to love? You get the structure ( hello shoulder pads !) and tailoring (longer length!) of a blazer but the cool & ease of a sleeveless top. You feel polished and pulled together but you’re not dying of heat exhaustion! This is good right ?! It’s chic and casual at the same time. Perfect to wear with white barrel jeans ( or any jeans !). I’ve also worn the vest layered over a white tank with grey slouchy pants , black pleather shorts and baggy camel pants. Swipe 👉👉👉 Styling tips: * Stick to classics colours but make it modern by choosing updated pieces in new shapes like a vest, barrel jeans , round toe mules. * white shoes are good here as they continue the colour of the jeans & lighten the lewk. * Turn up the cuffs of the jeans so you flash a bit of ankle - seems to work with the mules. * A black bag works back with the black vest and you can change your shoes from white to black. * The grey /camel pants add a third colour * Can’t wait to wear this vest into winter with a full midi skirt ( over a sweater) as I see on the runways of Milan & New York (last week!) that a long blazer over a floaty skirt is one of the silhouettes of the season. It’s that inbetween time when you are hankering for something new & exciting ( right ?!!) but not yet wearing seriously winter pieces. So it’s time for FiFi’s annual guide to denim and camel ! It’s a post I like to do around this time every year ( if you haven’t noticed!)
And why not?
A wardrobe of denim, navy and lots of camel and choc brown is what is so chic, so right & so right now. 
It’s what I personally want to wear : in fact it’s actually what I DO wear .
Trans seasonal. Lowkey. Chic. totally versatile.
 The trick ? As always is about updating the classics into modern shapes and trying new ways of styling. You might have a lot of these pieces so just invest in a pair of new shape jeans /baggy pants. one single item will update all your other pieces . Invest in camel or choc brown accessories, pull on denim , a neutral knit and maybe some navy and a stripe. Make sure you have three colours on the body (makes life so easy) two is too matchy match and more than three? Way too hard to pull off (who has the time?!). I snapped up this fabulous suede bag @arketofficial about a year ago when I first sniffed out the trend of chocolate brown suede. …good news : it’s now back in stock ! I needed a bag to take on my trip to Paris & Provence last May & as soon as I saw this one I knew it was perfect for my trip. And it was ! I also knew I needed a bag to wear all winter , into this summer and now of course this coming season . What’s to love ? The colour of course : the chicest chocolate brown. It works with everything in my wardrobe… summer to winter 👉Swipe The shape: casual yet chic great for every day. Slouchy shapes are so versatile because they look casual but the suede makes it sophisticated. The size : you can fit ALOT in there so it’s great for travel but also not too big for going out for dinner. The less you put in , the smaller it looks ! The strap : you can wear it across body as well as hanging from your shoulder. How much do we love hands free ?? Also wear it tucked under your arm. The zip: it’s imperative for travel right ? You need a bag that zips up for security. I love this bag so much I got it in black too! Tip: I sprayed it with waterproofing and brush every now and then to give it a joosh.
