I have found the best leggings: buttery soft and so damn comfortable. Oh and they fit like a glove too. Yes, I’m talking about the new Align No Line™ High-Rise Pant @lululemonausnz They are designed for “yoga and casual”
Let’s just say I do a lot of casual ! 😂
I have been wearing them every single day :
Because once you put them on you don’t want to take them off . They feel like a second skin and kind of weightless. What’s to love ? * No front-rise seam (no line) gives a smooth look and feel. * the high rise waistband lies flat and won’t dig into “ the situation “ yes, please. * There’s a sneaky waistband pocket to hold your key or card. So handy. * I chose the 25 inch:  a great length for me and they sit above ankle. * I am wearing a size 8USA in the colours espresso and allspice. Styling tips; I’m wearing the leggings with the fabulous white cinchwaist jacket @lululemonausnz . The cut is sooo good, very fashiony and I am obsessed with it. Love the choc brown leggings with the choc brown espresso half zip sweatshirt @lululemonausnz . It’s a matching set! Adore the funnel neck, the pockets, the roomy cut. By the way a funnel neck is a huge trend for this winter. YAY I’ve thrown the leggings back with my fav white @lululemonausnz trench (so good in the rain) and my crop puffa from last season ( buy early in the trend get years of wear). Layer over a white tee or soft stream sweatshirt for a flash of white next to the face. The secret to wearing black & white ? You need the The secret to wearing black & white ? You need the fashion edge to come from the new modern shapes ( because it sure ain’t coming from the colours 😜). And with black you need some kind of texture, shine or embellishment to add interest (so it’s not a snoozefest ). Which is why I’m loving my new leather jacket which I nabbed a few months ago @mango. The cut is modern & slouchy and the leather adds texture. Good news it’s back in stock ! ( link in stories) What’s to love ? This jacket is as soft as leather and because it’s pleather not as heavy. (it might not keep you toasty warm in winter but I live in Sydney😜) Because it’s roomy you can easily toss it over a knit. I got a size large & the sleeves are so roomy , which means it doesn’t feel tight & it’s so comfortable. The cut is like a double breasted crop trench rather than a tough biker jacket which I love as it’s chicer & much more versatile. Styling tips: A belt is optional ✔️ Go for slouchy black pants - (these are the fabulous day drift pants @lululemonau and they’re back in stock too)✔️ White shoes lighten the look ✔️ A black YSL bag keeps the colour theme tight ✔️ Add a flash of colour with @ysl animal print bag ✔️ A brown bag would not be wrong either ✔️ Note : I’ll also wear the jacket with grey jeans , with a black flirty skirt, a pencil skirt & with choc brown/tan slouchy pants. I’m having a skirt moment . It’s because long I’m having a skirt moment . It’s because long sleeve dresses in winter are just too hard to find don’t you think?! I don’t want a dress in kooky colors, frumpy florals or pesky prints obviously(!) and so all the long sleeve dresses I find in plain colours seem a bit ( how do I say?) nun like to me. Just a bit school marm or something!! Whereas you can have fun with a midi skirt and wear it with all sorts of knits and tops … Don’t get mad with me but I nabbed this pleat beige pleather (pleather l!) in the @zara sale last season ! (There was just one single skirt hanging there on the sale rack- and it was in the right size) ( don’t you love that ?!) Styling tips: * Think about different proportions and rather than tucking in your knit , let it hang out & long over the skirt. Drop waist almost .This is a trend I noticed for next winter : Lots of long jackets with flirty skirts peeking out under. * Add white shoes of course or when it’s really cold I’ll be pulling on knee high boots under all my midi skirts. * When buying a pleat skirt go up a size or two so the pleats sit flat and the waist sits low and loose ! Too tight and it’s gets a bit lumpy and bumpy and way too uncomfortable. * Love this @thefrankieshop brown knit for a few reasons but what drew me to it apart from the colour of course was the fact it has shoulder pads ( & you know how I love a shoulder pad ). I can finally pull out this fabulous brown coat @frankieshop I nabbed in February @netaporter What’s to love ? * the fabulous rich chocolate brown colour . * the Big wide shoulders - seriously extra big ! * It’s Double breasted (so looks great worn open & undone) * It’s super long which I love (tho I might get it taken up a fraction)(so I can wear flats !) * The fabric is a lovely soft wool blend. Styling tips: * Layer a chic dark grey knit under the choc brown coat & brown pleather pants for the best colour pairing of the season . * Or try the same colour choc brown knit under the coat for tone on tone dressing . * On a warmer day there’s nothing wrong with a simple white tee or sweatshirt. * Love the coat with barrel jeans in every colour : grey, brown & white. Yes, blue jeans will look great too. * Think 3 colours on the body : so keep the tones of brown happening with a brown belt & any brown/tan/beige bag * And white shoes, always white shoes. * Remember default to all white under everything and you can’t go wrong. I’m having a grey moment. Actually I’m having I’m having a grey moment. Actually I’m having a grey and brown moment. It’s the chic colour combination that looks so right ATM don’t you think ?! An unexpected pairing it works so well : you’re putting together the two most important colours happening this season. Swipe 👉👉👉 As you know I’ve been slowly building a wardrobe of all things camel , brown & neutrals. I have a serious wardrobe full of all those tones . ( it makes getting dressed so easy!) So I hardly need anything more in that department right ?! But I knew I was missing something : a dark grey slouchy knit sweater. Chic enough to wear on its own but also easily tucked in if needs be. I found the best one @netaporter @thefrankieshop To be honest I’ve been stalking it for a while as I loved the chocolate brown knit sweater @thefrankieshop you might remember I nabbed @netaporter last month. The best thing about this colour grey is that it loves black & grey obviously but it’s also a match made in heaven with chocolate, brown & camel. Yes my whole wardrobe haha 🤣 Styling tips: * As it’s pretty voluminous you can just front tuck the knit to create shape ( & show off your belt ). * but the knit can also be worn hanging out ( it has nifty side splits so it hangs really well) over the @thefrankieshop slouchy pants. * try the grey knit under the fabulous choc brown coat @thefrankieshop also @netaporter and with slouchy brown pleather pants. * White pointy heels lighten the look. * A tan designer Valentino belt elevates the look and lifts the grey and brown. * A Brown Gucci or tan bag Demellier ( thx @netaporter ) breaks up the monotone & adds a third colour . * No need to match shoes & bags. * Go down a size or two as I’m wearing a size small in the knit; it’s big ! Struggling with office dressing ? Everybody keep Struggling with office dressing ? Everybody keep calm : Your new season work wardrobe starts here! Times have changed in the corporate office world. Your wardrobe is probably more casual.
Or you might be working part time from home.
But you still want to look chic, understated, professional …and best for your age. The trick ? * Invest in expensive (looking) versatile colours like black, camel, navy and cream.
(FYI Hot pink, Purple, bright green never look expensive unless they are.)( Just a reminder!)
* Stick to the FiFi philosophy of table top dressing: make the focus on TOP of the body. That’s where people are looking: Your face ( not at your knees believe or not !)
 Which means investing in stand out jackets, major blouses and statement tops.
Keep the bottoms classic and understated. ( they’re hidden under the table)( good for zoom too !)
 The good news is that the trouser suit is back. And it makes life easy : just make sure it’s updated to a slouchy blazer and baggy pants.
A loose cut looks effortless , FEELs comfortable. Go for black, grey, khaki, camel or brown. (Navy can be tricky as it can look like an insurance /airline uniform & so it’s hard to style).( oh & close your eyes and keep walking if you see any trouser suits in hot pink, purple or bright green. Trouble ! They don’t look expensive, too hard to style).

It might be a trench, a blazer or a utility jacket in a neutral, beige or choc brown. ( All white also works under a denim jacket, grey peacoat , a barn jacket or even a black blazer. Anything really !). It’s easy, chic and simple, looks effortless. FiFi philosophy: Update the basics into new modern shapes. Meaning ? Classics date ! It’s a myth that you can wear a classic trench, white tee and jeans forever. The cut changes over time - the length, the shoulder, the armhole, the waist and the width of leg , the shape of the lapel , everything looks different. Change is the secret to fashion : that’s why we love it ! So have you noticed the white Tee has grown, and your low rise skinny jeans should now be safely stored ??! Same with that short, tight single breasted trench . Right now you want a white t shirt that is roomy slouchy and a trench that is extra long & oversized. White jeans ? Update to barrel, wide leg or straight and baggy. Hint: the fashion edge comes from modern shapes and the new ways of styling ( you don’t need kooky colours, frumpy florals & pesky prints to make a statement) : the only thing classic here are the colours right ?! Styling Tips: Net ballet flats continue the white theme and the brown bag adds a third colour & breaks up the monotone. It may not yet be time for a winter coat but it’ It may not yet be time for a winter coat but it’s definitely time for knitwear. What to buy? Invest in neutral , cream or choc brown. You want a knit to make a statement, a knit that can handle being worn on its own - it doesn’t need the help of a blazer or coat. It should be fashiony enough to stand on its own as is. It can be slouchy and oversized or just a rib knit that is roomy & effortless. And a sleeveless knit is perfect for this warm autumn weather. My advice? Don’t invest in black: Boring, not so flattering next to the face and tricky to style.
(black sweater + black pants = snoozefest). ( I am falling asleep thinking about it). Those black sweaters you already own? toss them back with your high waist beige pants or wide leg blue denim. A black knit works with black leather pants & under a black blazer.
Just saying if can only buy one sweater don’t spend your money on a black one. How to wear a slouchy sweater ? Swipe ! If it’s cropped (this one is @aerelabel) it will look great with beige barrel leg pants @lululemonausnz * It will look fabulous with leather shorts ( or leather pants) in brown, khaki or black. * It will love hanging long over a long maxi flirty skirt . * It will adore getting a half tuck into jeans * It will love white jeans especially in winter. * It will want to be layered over a shirt ( if it’s not too oversized) (with the shirt cuffs hanging out) * Check out the menswear section: quite often better cut, a little slouchier and sturdier fabric. * Wear your stripe knit as a scarf: work wonders tossed around your neck. * Fashion tip: Buy two of the same inexpensive knits then wear the second matching one around your shoulders a la Celine * Swipez vous for inspo and ideas Need to invest in a couple of knits ? You will always look sophisticated. And chic. Summer, Autumn, winter, Spring. So versatile ! A trench will go out to dinner over a simple black dress and heels.
Toss that same exact trench over jeans, a tee with Birkenstocks & you’re casual weekend ready.
It will keep you dry in rainy weather. And it might even keep you warm in winter. Who da thunk!
Talk about mileage and cost per wear. Which one to buy ? Classics like a trench have a use by date. They NEVER last forever. They can look dated. 
That short ( knee length ) tight single breasted trench you own?
 Aurevoir. Goodbye. Adios & store it. (It’s so out it’s about to come back in again!) Right now you want an extra long trench , double breasted and oversized.
This new modern shape will last you for 5 years or more. (BTW I’ve been talking about this new shape of trench for about 10 years now). Veer away from a black trench.
Too dark, Not versatile. Boring.
It’s outerwear that counts: it’s the first thing people see. It’s the piece that’s going to make a statement.
 So If you have to buy just one trench? invest in beige, brown, khaki, white.
Watch as it instantly lightens up your life.
It will joosh up all your basic black but also loves white and neutrals.( a black trench is not wrong just not the first one to buy) * Walk past, close your eyes & cross yourself 🫣if you see any trenchcoats in purple or red or horrid green or lime )(Looks cheap. Hurts my eyes!) * Always buy a size or two bigger if it’s too neat. * A trench should be mid shin because it needs to be the same length as your midi skirt : A short trench over a longer skirt arrggggg ! Please no ! A long trench over a short skirt? Yes ! *Also if you feel overwhelmed by too much fabric then choose a trenchcoat with a sharp shoulder seam not raglan sleeve ( not good if you have narrow or sloping shoulders !). You might call Loving a barn jacket this season.
You might call it a safari jacket or a field jacket. Or even a utility jacket. I call it cool!
 What’s to love ?
It’s not a blazer, a crop trench or a parka. (though it almost is!) But it works just as well.
It is casual yet never boring.
You can wear it summer into winter because it’s not really a heavy winter jacket.
But because it has a casual nonchalant laid back vibe it suits the Australian lifestyle. What to look for ? 
Go for a barn jacket in a brown, beige khaki or neutral. (Surprise!) (black is too heavy and dark). 
It should have pockets, it might have a cord collar , leather trim or a funnel neck. It should really be pretty roomy , almost square and boxy. It should be long , over the bum and have an oversized look. In a heavy practical cotton, maybe waxed or at least rainproof. It should look functional! ( now’s there’s an idea : haha) Styling tricks: * Layer a lighter colour knit under the jacket( don’t default to black under there). * Tuck your knit or tee into high waist pants to create shape and give the illusion (!) of a waist under there! * Slouchy long pants will dress up the barn jacket. Ditto a pencil skirt . Swipez vous to see how I’ve been wearing it . If you’re feeling bold go for a sheer skirt a la Prada ! * Sneakers in brown dress down the classic pants.( white sneakers? Not wrong but time to store them!) * Love the idea of a barn jacket with heels, boots, white mules and kitten heels. Yes ! That’s how I will wear it . It’s the contrast of high/low that makes it interesting/unexpected = cool. * Hint: make sure it’s oversized and BIG , that is what makes it look fashiony. You do not want to look like the Queen in Balmoral (!) so It needs drama & to make a statement. The one thing missing in my wardrobe? A grey blaze The one thing missing in my wardrobe? A grey blazer ! So I was thrilled when I spied this one from @cosstores_au on sale in January . Finally it’s chilly enough to wear it ! The thing I love about a grey blazer is that it’s not black ( or camel) but just as chic . And in all seriousness that is the point ! Remember that a black blazer can actually be quite limiting - it only looks good with jeans (and leather pants). A black blazer with your favorite black pants ? It’s a snoozefest !! (Where would I wear a black trouser suit ?! With my current lifestyle : not many places). But a grey blazer is so much more versatile & it works with both jeans AND also with black pants. What to look for in a blazer so it looks modern? A sharper shoulder , a longer length, double breasted ( though this one doesn’t have buttons ) and a bigger lapel . This blazer @cosstores_au also has a cool fabric belt which adds a little edge and helps to cinch in the waist. I’ve styled the grey blazer with my fav slouchy grey barrel leg jeans @zara & white mules but it also works with silver block heels and black sandals. ( change the shoes, change the look right ?!). For a lewk that is a little more polished I’ve thrown the grey blazer @cosstores_au and white tank with my fav @lululemonausnz black slouchy pants, white mules and a black bucket bag. FiFi philosophy! Don’t compromise looking modern FiFi philosophy! Don’t compromise looking modern by trying to look slim. You’ll end up looking neither. Meaning ? Time and again I hear women say about slouchy clothes “I can’t wear that, it makes me look bigger”. So? Who cares if you look bigger ? Looking slim is not the end game! And when you think about it the word “ flattering” is really just another word for slim right ? Personally I’d rather look modern & chic than worry about whether something will make me look slimmer. Because what happens is when you will try to style something to make it flattering /slimming quite often ( not always !) it will not be modern. And you won’t look smaller either. You end up in no man’s land looking neither slim nor modern. My advice : own it & just wear the damn fashion ! When you start trying new shapes & silhouettes your eye changes and suddenly you get used to new proportions. It’s about updating the classics and embracing the fashion & the new ways of styling. Whatever age or shape you are. The thing is : ALL those ridiculous rules about dressing for your shape are all based on the idea of looking slimmer ! And the problem : those so called “figure fixer” rules CHANGE. Because fashion changes. ( that’s why we love it) And women hold on to those old fashioned rules. But they’re not set in stone. No wonder you’re struggling to get dressed! In my opinion looking slimmer is not the aim. Looking modern & chic is what I’m interested in. Right now it’s about : Baggy + baggy = Yes Baggy + neat = cool Neat + neat = wrong Of course getting dressed is about feeling great so please wear what you feel good in ! For me I FEEL great in Farshun & feel modern in new silhouettes whether they’re slimming or not . So please stop compromising looking modern by trying to look slim : you’ll end up looking neither.
