Everything you need for a beach holiday! #Luxetoless. #ICYMI

Looking fabulous a la plage and en vacance should be easy and effortless.
Stick to low key slouchy pieces in expensive colours that love being together ( Like you and your family) ( funny not funny!).

Start with white, add in some neutrals, a few dollops of khaki and orange, a patch of blue and a soupcon of black. The idea is that you want to get dressed without thinking about it too much but know you look great.
And when in doubt ? Default to white…

It’s tricky because it’s so personal. And everyone’s shape is different. I wear a black one shoulder one piece. Love Bondi Born, they give good structure and hold it all in: Not necessarily for actually doing laps ! COS actually do great swimwear and so does Matteau. My advice?  it’s worth spending the money on quality and a great cut and fabric. Anything that can hold you together (!) that you wear every day is worth every cent.

The Rashie:
We all need a rash vest for the beach. (Sometimes my favorite sunscreen is not enough) . Do you know about Cover Swim? Finally rashies that are fabulous and fashiony ! The beach cover up:
It should be chic , loose , long and easy to throw over a swimsuit. This one is fabulous. I bought this one from Arket. Go for the biggest size. Perfect linen, neckline and length. And it’s plain. Love it. It might be a white shirt dress , an oversized blue shirt or a stripe kaftan, or a just buy a mens linen shirt in a big size ..Perfect for the beach.

The dresses ( You need more than one !)
You need three dresses: One super casual for the beach. (I have this: perfect for the beach.) One for low key drinks. One for going out. Make it a maxi . Because they look great with flats= effortless. I have just received this black one and it’s a winner. Halter is great, strapless is cool and anything loose and unstructured is the way to go. Black, orange, blue or white. Stripe is always right.

Tops, tops and tops:
You need all sorts of tops on holiday. You need a blue shirt because you just do (It looks great with white!). You need a wide sleeve top ,  a flutter sleeve top , an evening top to wear with beige chinos or jeans and flats. A strapless bandeau is totally right now. Add in a slouchy white Tee. The best top that is casual and chic? This is what I wear all the time! And a holiday is not a holiday without a stripe top.

The long skirt:
It’s a great alternative to a dress. A bit more laid back. Handy dot come on a holiday. It should be long, it might be in denim , it could be in black, white or neutral. You want a fit n flare shape or full and floaty. NB: Go for a size bigger so it sits lower and doesn’t dig into the ‘situation’. You want it to look loose and relaxed , not tight and uncomfortable. Wear with a white tank or a tee. A skirt with volume looks best with flats.  But who is wearing heels on holidays?

The wide leg pants.
Don’t go anywhere on holidays without wide leg pants.  A must have for a beach holiday. They look relaxed. You will feel relaxed. They are so right for the beach, for going out, for chillaxing. Go for neutral, white or black. please pack a pair of the best white jeans, wide leg blue jeans and chinos are pivotal. Cargo pants are cool, in a neutral. And these denim culottes are the only shorts you should wear. But you knew that.

The shoes:
There are two two types of shoes: beach shoes and chic shoes. By that I mean sandals you will not wear to the beach. I’m talking strappy flats, chunky sandals or chic low heel mule. I think a low block heel are totally right when you need a heel on holidays or anything silver !. Sneakers are always good. Bensimon are great.  These white birks are the only thing I wear to the beach. Love these black slides, so damn comfortable.

The accessories:
You want a straw bag you can carry all day. A basket or a big straw tote or a raffia shoulder bag. Perfect for holidays. Or wherever you are going. A cute little clutch is handy too if you’re going out. Sunglasses in white or brown/tortoiseshell or  with a brown lens works so well with a neutral wardrobe.  A stripe throw is so handy : wear it as scarf, sarong or towel, I have this and love it. A little bit of colour! Invest in a fabulous hat. Because we need one. Because it’s summer. And it’s holidays ! Woo hoo! ( and after writing this post I think I need one haha) x
