July 4th ? Let’s make Brownies !
Did someone say it was 4th July ? Time to bake some rich fudgy gooey and totally decadent Brownies
You need for one batch of brownies :
(200g) unsalted butter
1 cup (200g) chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 cup (200g) caster sugar
4 eggs
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup (100g) plain flour
¼ teaspoon salt
• Slip into red, white and blue stripe outfit.
• Pull on stars spangled glitter Miu Miu shoes.
• Pour a gin and tonic.
• Preheat your oven to 180°C and line a rectangular cake pan with parchment paper.
• Melt butter and chocolate together over low heat in a saucepan or double boiler
• Stir with a wooden spoon (important: never use a metallic utensil to stir melted chocolate, otherwise it turns as lumpy as your thighs will be after you eat these).
• Remove from heat – that’s the chocolate not your thighs – and allow to cool a few minutes.
• Beat eggs with sugar vigorously until white and frothy as a Chanel haute couture dress.
• Add vanilla extract.
• Fold melted chocolate, flour, cocoa powder and salt into the egg whites.
• Stir gently so you have a batter as smooth as crème de la Mer..
• Pour into the lined cake pan and toss into the oven.
• Bake for 20-25 minutes, until crisp on the outside, but still soft as a Celine bag in the inside.
• A toothpick should come out clean when it’s done.
• Remove from oven and cool on a chic rack.
• Cut the brownies in nice chic sleek bars, refrigerate overnight, or one hour minimum.
• Yum.
