The trick with wearing plain block colours?
Exaggerated shapes!
The silhouette has to make a statement.
It’s about making a fashion statement and creating drama from the styling and the interesting cut.
Because you sure ain’t getting it from kooky colours or pesky prints !

Which was why I pounced on these amazing black parachute pants from lululemon.
What’s clever is that the hem is ajustable: the pants can be worn wide leg or cinched in to create a balloon shape.
It’s really the new pant shape of summer and I am so here for it !

What’s to love about these fabulous lululemon pants ?
* In the lightest nylon crinkle fabric ( no ironing : thank you)
* elastic waist that doesn’t dig in
* Cinch the ties at the hems to change from wide leg to balloon.
* Pockets with sneaky card sleeve.
* knee pleats = easy movement and comfort

Totally versatile , let me show you three different ways to wear them .

For casual weekends:
The relaxed shape of the pants works with flat sandals , white tee and with my fav lululemon khaki rain chaser jacket .
The short crop jacket is just the right length for the pants, creates shape and shows off the waist.

For every day chic:
The sporty vibe of the pants is the just the right thing with this super light lululemon sporty white jacket and heels.
Remember there’s nothing wrong with black and white when you update to modern shapes.
I’ve added a lace to cami under the jacket to dial up the fashion and give the sporty vibe a little feminity.

For low key dinner :
Sticking to a black and white lewk , try the pants with a white sharp shouldered blazer and white tank.
The volume and tailoring of the jacket balance the exaggerated shape of the pants.
Add black heels and a clutch and you’re ready for low key dinner.

I’m wearing a size medium in the pants, a size large in the white jacket and also large in the khaki rainchaser jacket.
