Runway to Realway : A Blazer & jeans. Then just add accessories !

Update the classics !
it’s a FiFi philosophy to live by.
Because it’s actually a myth that you can keep wearing your wardrobe forever.
That’s because everything dates : the cut of the shoulder, the shoulder shape, the lapel, the length, the waist.
It all changes and suddenly (after about 7 years !) these pieces look old fashioned, a little average, a little tired.
( Then you struggle : You know you look and feel daggy and “ wrong” but you don’t know why. You’re wearing all your favourite classics so whatever could it be?? Then you add kooky colours, pesky prints, frumpy frou frou scarves, beads to fix it …and it just gets worse!)
The solution ?
Update to new exciting shapes : That’s if you want to look chic, effortless and modern ( You do !).

So let’s talk about jeans and a blazer.
Our inspo?
This fabulous outfit from the last Celine show in Paris.
The shape of both the jeans and blazer are updated into new modern shapes.
Then it’s all styled a little differently.
That’s because a black blazer always looks best with denim ( Otherwise a black blazer is not your first choice ).
Which makes it runway worthy: It looks new and fresh.

The blazer is long and slouchy. With big shoulders. It’s buttoned up high.
The jeans are barrel and high waist and a little cropped. With an ironed seam down the front.
The white shirt: has big dramatic cuffs . Pull them out !
But it’s the accessories that take this to another level :
That new way of wearing a scarf ( or a scarf at all right?!) like a cravat.
And the colour blue links back to those fabulous major sunglasses.
( This is NOT a scarf just there to joosh your dated wardrobe : this is the icing on the cake!)
The shoes : white brogues or lace up derby add a little masculine edge. A loafer would work just as well.
The rings piled on every finger add drama, femininity and make a statement ( it’s the runway it needs to !)
The belt : The buckle can be huge like this on the runway but in reality I’d go for something smaller ( no belt at all)
Pull on a chic shoulder bag in black : done!

Now you can steal her style: runway to realway.
