Sumptuous Suede ! What to buy , why you need it , how to wear it .

Suede !
It’s a happening trend and I’m here for it .
It’s chic, it feels new and it’s pretty much trans-seasonal ( you can wear into spring, accessories into summer).)
Because of the luxurious texture it always adds a little oomph and a fashiony edge to any lewk.
Talk about an instant wardrobe updater.

This season you will find suede ..everything !
From suede bags and shoes to blazers, jackets and coats, skirts and pants.
Of course I first alerted you about investing in a suede blazer and bag last year but suede will definitely be around next season so it’s a good time to invest in a single standout pieces right now like a blazer or a bag.

What to choose:
In terms of colour suede naturally looks great in choc brown, camel and beige (which is what I have chosen below here). I love it and it’s everywhere.  Black suede is not wrong and neither is chic khaki. All FiFi approved.
(Keep away from white suede or weird coilours but you know that ).
Go for modern exaggerated shapes and clean lines ( NO cowboy fringing or studs or anything like that please!).
A blazer or a bomber/short jacket is the obvious choice. What too start with. But any outerwear is chic: ADORE this suede coat and this suede shacket. Love a suede midi skirt. And slouchy suede pants are always chic.

How to wear it:
General rule of thumb: just wear one item of suede at a time: A suede blazer or jacket with jeans and knits. A suede bag or suede shoes ( both together is OK but can be tricky to pull off). Go for a suede skirt then style it with a wool jacket or suede pants with a slouchy knit. Denim is fabulous with suede too. And so is head to toe white under it.
But an oufit that is totally head to toe suede is too much, looks too contrived and too try hard. NOOOO we can’t have that ! Because the idea in life is to look like you just threw it nonchalantly on ( even if it took HOURS to style right?!).
