Two simple ways to wear Black barrel jeans ! Steal my style.

Wearing all black .
The trick ?
You need texture, shine ..or exaggerated shapes.
Some kind of drama to make it exciting right?
Otherwise black can be a snoozefest : Because you sure ain’t getting the fashion edge from the colour!

Barrel jeans like these fabulous black ones from freepeople do the trick: the cut is everything.
They make a statement which is what I’m looking for , neat in the waist, wide on the leg then neat again at the ankle.

With that type of strong shape it’s important to think about what to wear on top : you want to show off the barrel shape as well as the waist. It’s the way to create shape too. Which is why this bomber jacket from Zara (from 2 winters ago!) works so well with jeans.
It’s short and cropped with big shoulders pads.
Yes , two exaggerated shapes together!

The other way to wear the barrel jeans ?
With a choc brown slouchy knitchoc brown slouchy knit and flats.
NB: I will wear a long coat over this too.

Styling tricks:
Tuck in the brown knit to create shape. A front tuck is fine .
White pointy heels or two tone ballet flats break up the monotone of black AND also add a third colour.
A YSL animal print bag adds a bit of print and …colour ( enough colour for me !) but a chocolate brown shoulder bag is also right too. It doesn’t need to match the shoes exactly just tone in.
I’ve layered the bomber over a white tee but the weather is now freezing so I’ll also wear over a neat knit.

Now you can steal my style !
