Chocolate brown. Mocha. Espresso. Mud. Cocoa. Donkey.
Whatever you call it it’s THE big colour for winter (and the coming seasons)( Yes, next summer too).
( which I am thrilled about as I always love it and my wardrobe is bursting with it).

So I’ve decided to go in early and to go in hard with this colour on The FiFi Report .
Meaning ?
Let’s get it this done early in the season. Sort out what actual choc brown pieces you need.
It’s about planning your wardrobe.
Investing in the key foundation pieces, building blocks if you will .
Because when you plan your wardrobe , think about what you’re buying as a conscious consumer it makes getting dressed easy and effortless. Right ?!

How to wear chocolate brown?
The good news is that you can build around those brown pieces and then add a few other colours like navy, grey and denim. Go crazy with colour ! Haha..Orange ! White ! (That’s enough haha..). Think “expensive’ FiFi approved colours Obviously chocolate works head to toe but also with all tones of neutrals, camel and caramel. You can try it with blue jeans, with grey jeans and white jeans. Don’t fuss about the tones and what colours go with what , it’s the new modern shapes that count. Think three colours on the body. Think textures. Think Big. Think I like it !

Here’s the key pieces you need in choc brown in n0 particular order: Remember I am not saying buy everything here. Take your pick: It might be a fabulous bag and that’s all. Maybe some loafers. Could be a major coat or a leather skirt. Just add in one or two pieces in choc brown and watch as they work wonders and instantly joosh all your current pieces needing a little help in your wardrobe ! Here are all the best pieces you need in chocolate brown…Luxe to less.

Brown coat:
It’s got to be long and roomy. Can be belted. Can be oversized or have sharp shoulders. I find a slouchy look is more versatile that a more tailored neat look. That way you can wear it on weekends, in the country, Saturday coffee with jeans. But also out to the theatre or dinner. I absolutely adore the coat I nabbed from Netapoter as it’s very exaggerated in the shoulders.Buy here or this or more below.

Brown knit:
Love a layering knit like this – something to wear under coats and jackets. Or rib knit like this. They are meant to be worn under things. I like a cream knit under most things. Don’t default to black unless you’re wearing pants and skirts ( In leather preferably ). But for a sweater that makes statement, that stands alone as something chic then invest in a big slouchy roll neck sweater in brown like this. Wear with jeans or with leggings , half tuck into a skirt. Buy here.

Brown leather jacket.
It might be a very Miu Miu inspired big bomber jacket. It’s very cool. Might be long. I do like a shorter bomber leather jacket as it sits at the top of high waist baggy jeans so creates shape. Avoid biker jackets in leather way too hard to wear and only look good with jeans. Here or Buy here

Brown barrel jeans.
You know I LOVE them. Look new. Feel new. Are new. The good thing with brown denim jeans is you can wear brown head to toe but because it is denim it gives the whole look a mire casual laid back edge. This is good. Blue denim jeans surrounded by chocolate brown everything else is a sensational look. Buy here.

Brown suede bag:
Yes, you should have bought the Arket slouchy bag when I told you a year ago ( as I did !) but it’s still so right and you will get seasons of wear . A brown suede bag can be a more structured tote, a small shoulder bag or just a little clutch. A bag might be the only thing you buy in suede and that’s so fine. Buy my picks here

Choc brown small bag.
I have a few choc brown bags as I sniffed out the trend a few years ago ( as you know !) and they are perfect to add a third colour to your wardrobe. White shoes and a brown bag will instantly joosh up any outfit.  I was lucky to be gifted this fabulous bag from Strandbags : It’s very Loewe and the leather is great quality , the colour chic and the size is just great. Casual and yet chic enough to take out for dinner. Buy here.

Brown leather pants:
Love and adore leather pants. Why ? They don’t need ironing for a start ! They add joosh and an edge to everything you wear . Appropriate for nearly every occasion .. Also love a brown leather skirt or any brown leather shorts. (Or just go for fabric brown shorts!). Wear leather pants with a slouchy knit and sneakers or ballet flats, with heels for going and a sharp blazer. Buy here.

Brown suede blazer:
Prada /Miu Miu started this trend and our hankering for a suede brown jacket last year. It’s definitely a great piece to have in your wardrobe and is an instant wardrobe updater ! SHOP the look and Read more here.

Brown (suede ) loafers.
As you know I am addicted to white shoes. They just add a pop of freshness and lighten the look of anything you wear. However I am also loving a choc brown loafer. Or two if you want a pair haha. Love a choc brown loafer especially with blue jeans or with slouchy camel pants. Especially with a brown blazer or knit. The shoes will pull it all together. If not loafers then grab brown ballet flats or Mary Janes or kitten heels. See below. Buy here.

Brown knee high boots.
I have been going on about knee high boots since 2017  ( and every winter since!) That’s when this idea of long skirts and long boots first appeared on the groove horizon. I now have a few knee high boots and I love them. I bought the choc brown with a little heel last year and they are the best ! The good thing is you can wear with black.  But also with all your camel and navy and denim. Wear with midi skirts or under your wide leg pants. With shorts. In terms of heel height of boots I love a kitten heel. Comfortable and chic. I also love flat brown knee high boots but probably would not go a high heel. Looked dated now. Pointy or round toe doesn’t matter . Buy here

Brown tweed blazer.
I have a check brown blazer from a few years ago which I will pull out again this winter but if you’re new to the blazer game I’d go for a more tweed blazer or jacket. It has texture, something chic about it and will work with everything in your wardrobe. Or just invest in a plain brown single or DB blazer. Wear over a brown knit. Keep the colours the same on top and just change out the bottoms: so blue jeans or white jean, slouchy grey or brown pants, a flirty skirt and boots.  Buy here.Or here

Brown ( suede) sneakers :
So Miu Miu, so cool. I have these adidas brown suede sneakers from year but these ones from Jo Mercer caught my eye. You wear with wide leg long pant, with your barrel jeans and with a brown coat. With a suede blazer. With a skirt? Yes but all the cool girls are wearing with socks. I might do that ..then again i doubt it ! If I wear flats with a midi skirt it will be ballet flats or loafers. Or my fav Tony Bianco mules. See below

TIPS: Choc Brown goes with so many colours: Add in an orange jumper, blue denim jeans, grey slouchy pants, a blue shirt, a navy blazer and white shoes. An animal print bag and shoes and voila ! Get shopping !
