It’s chilly. Sometimes wet. Quite often cold.
You need to get your winter weekend wardrobe sorted.
This is about keeping warm. Dry. And most importantly …chic !
No need to look sacrifice style for comfort.
Because this season luckily enough everything functional and practical is in actually fashion.
How good is that!

Where to start?
Casual dressing can be so tricky right? You don’t want to look too over dressed but also not like a slob. You want to look fashiony and chic but also low key and effortless.
Here’s the secret:
Think versatile expensive colours and update in new shapes.
Think about major outerwear . Then your fashiony foot wear. Then fill in the gaps !
Big coats. Big boots. Slouchy sweaters. Leggins. Done.
Everybody keep calm ! ( or should I say warm lols) I have found the best winter warming accessories from gloves, to scarves to beanies and fur lined boots : scroll right down just hit the links below .

What to buy?
You need to invest in a fabulous coat.
Make it long. Oversized ( go up a size if you need to). Avoid black.
You need outerwear to make a statement. So it can’t be a snooze fest.
If you go Black it needs to be be in a strong new  modern shapes like this peacoat ( Have it and got size 38 but could go smaller). Love a peacoat in camel, navy and grey too.

Invest in a puffer jacket.
Make it big. Make it taupe, khaki, grey and delicious Brown.
Again outerwear needs to make a statement. It’s the piece that everyone sees first .
In terms of styling puffer jackets are not just for active wear they also look great with A line skirts, slouchy pants and all your leather pants.

I do love a shacket. (It’s a jacket like a shirt).
So handy. So practical. SO easy to throw on when you to look casual and chic.
It needs to be layered it over a poloneck sweater.
It’s jacket really so it needs to be worn undone. And it needs to be big. And it must be long.
It could be denim or leather. I have this grey one from Arket.
Note: a shorter shearling jacket ( Prada here !) is very cool and it’s going up the groove Richter scale so invest now.

By the way do have an anorak or a rain parka ?
Apart from being practical they are the chicest jackets: read more here
You better invest in right now. Lots to choose from below – I have this fabulous one from Lululemon,

Now let’s talk boots.
If you had to buy one pair of boots for the weekend then make them knee high. And flat. Because they fit under wide leg jeans AND you can wear with a long skirt. Say goodbye to all those short ankle boots. Stat. They only liked skinny jeans. And you know where have gone! Goodbye !
I adore gumboots/wellies at the moment. These are fabulous and if it keeps raining I will be living in these.

Coats, jackets and boots sorted !
Now just slot in your favourite key pieces underneath.
You need slouchy knits ( read more here) and leather pants ( more here) and jeans of course.
Grab gloves, a beanie and a chic cross body tote in grey or brown and you’re done !

Styling tips:

  • Keep everything big and fashiony. Otherwise you will look like the Queen in Balmoral. Ha
  • Stick to chic versatile colours that love each other like the ones below: They all go together, look flattering. Chic. And you’re not in black ( or god forbid in bright colours!)(aging and never look expensive unless they are).
  • Worried about looking too oversized? Remember you can wear baggy and baggy. But if you are feel overwhelmed then balance out the tight with the loose. SO try leather leggins with a big jumper and coat. Or a neater shacket with baggy pants. Straight jeans are a good investment as they are fashiony but not too overwhelming. Remember the big coats and boots balance each other . You need the big shoes to cope with oversized coats..
