A midi skirt and blazer? Add sexy boots & a red bag: Steal her style!

One of the FiFi philosophies is ‘table top dressing’.
Meaning?
Keep the focus and interest on top of the body where everyone is looking. ( not hidden under the table).
Which means skirts (and pants) should not be shouting for attention.
It’s a waste of …fashion because they are hiding where no one is really looking !
Instead wear your stand out pieces on top – coats, blazers, sweaters and tops that make a statement.

Skirts (and pants?)
They should be in plain FiFi approved colours like black, grey, neutral, white and navy. Which is why when I do a wardrobe detox those print skirts and floral pants have to go !
And think about that for a minute: because when you have attention/print on the bottom you THEN need to wear a plain boring something on top. Reverse it !
Wear the plain pieces on the bottom and the star attraction on top.
It’s common sense isn’t it?!

So let’s talk about a skirt for winter.
what to buy?
Go for black, grey, brown or neutral. No surprises there ! ( see above)
Go for midi ( mid shin) , full, pleated, A- line or even a pencil skirt is chic.
Whatever the style : Make sure the skirt is long enough to sit over the top of your boots.
Then add a fabulous jacket like this grey fitted sharp shouldered blazer.
It’s a modern cut , big shoulders, a longer length with an interesting lapel.
It changes up the proportions of the silhouette: tailored on top , a full skirt on the bottom.

Accessories ?
A red bag adds the unexpected touch of colour and lightens up the grey and black.
Then pull on cool knee high boots, cool sunglasses and chic black gloves ( we need them in this weather !) .

A good styling tip:
With black or grey make sure there is shine and texture, something exciting happening to the non colours. And of course always update the cuts and shapes ( a mid skirt, an oversized blazer)  with groovy new ways of styling.

Now you can steal her style !
