Christmas Day dresses!
You want to look dressed up and low key.
A little festive but relaxed.
It’s not a big time statment event dress but it’s not a every day summer dress either.

The solution ?
A dress that is long – in a dramatic shape- over the knee or ankle length.
With puff sleeves. With layers and tiers. In a fit and flare shape.

Go for chic colours: navy, black, taupe, white of course.
Yes, I will allow a chic blue or a a bright green !
(After all you are not building a wardrobe of versatile separates, this is one off occasion dress that doesn’t need any styling.)
Love a bold stripe dress but keep away from prints and florals , too tricky and ageing , except for this fabulous dress at Zara.

In terms of shoes: my motto is when in doubt go for white !
It’s going to be look fresh and summery and chic.
Love a tan or blue strappy sandals and black is fine if it’s sexy.
Rule of thumb: Flats always look so chic with a long dress but mules or heels look best with a shorter dress.

If you need a bag make sure it’s small, a clutch or shoulder bag .
Throw on a pearl earring or a major cuff otherwise keep it simple.
You are not a Christmas decoration !
