Everyday summer dress? Yes, please !

What’s not to love about a dress?
They’re so easy !
There’s no trying to work out what goes with what.
Trying to mix and match.
Struggling to style up an outfit.
You just toss it on and zoom out the door.
Done !

This summer you need to invest in an everyday dress.
These are not party dresses. Or beach dresses.
These are just cool dresses to throw on when the weather heats up.
Casual and low key doesn’t also mean you can’t be chic.
What to look for?

Make sure you have a dress that has a flirty hem.
Look for a dress with volume.
It might have big balloon sleeves or straps that are bra safe.
It might have a fit n flare shape:
That is? Fits then flares out on the bottom. Like me lols
Halter neck is fabulous.
Boat neck is never good. (Not fifi approved as it gives short neck syndrome !)
You want a casual loose effortless style.
You want a longer length. Like over the knee. Mid shin. Or longer.

The reason:

A short tight narrow dress never looks good with flats. Ever.
Oh and it’s very dated and daggy. Yikes.
But a dress with a flirty skirt , with flare, with volume means you can wear flat sandals and sneakers. This is important don’t you think?

Go for black, white and brown. Naturally.
A touch of blue is great , so is chic khaki.
Stripes are ok and navy is always right.
Sometimes it’s better to show your arms, but look for sleeves that juts out like this Lee Mathews dress …it looks fresher, otherwise go for a puff sleeve.
There are lots of fabulous dresses with all sorts of cut outs in the back and side a la Celine which I love.  You should you wear if you think you can !

The aim? Look effortless, ageless, chic and summery.

And isn’t that why we get up in the morning?
Hell Yeah!
