These are all the pieces I have been living in.
All the pieces I have loved wearing. Again and again.
In lots of different ways. Over and over.
In lockdown, out of lockdown. In the foetal position. Out of the foetal position.
With a mask on. With a mask off.
Some are years old, some new but all pieces are now zero cost per wear.
The secret to building a wardrobe?
Stick to expensive colours.
These are browns and creams, whites, beige and black with a touch of navy & khaki.
That way they all work together.
No wasting time trying to match millions of silly colours.
Takes way too long styling yourself up. No, thank you.
oh and expensive colours look just that: expensive.
Cheap colours like hot pink, bright green and purple never look expensive unless they are.
Now you have the colours down pat you can branch out into new exciting updated shapes.
That’s the key to getting dressed.
When the shapes are dramatic, when the shapes make a statement then there is nothing else to do. You just put the clothes on …and instantly you’re chill.
No need to joosh up with silly scarves and belts and beads and jewellery. Yikes.
That’s when things start to look contrived, daggy and old fashioned.
Sorry to swear at you.
