Trench coats.
Anyone who reads The FiFi Report knows I am obsessed !
Been posting here on The FiFi Report for years.
This season fashion is catching up to me (!) and the trenchcoats are everywhere.
Gotta love that.
But there is good reason to love trenchcoats:
In this world of climate change we all need a coat that is trans seasonal.
A coat that will take us anywhere, whatever season whether it’s hot or cold or raining or not.
We all need a coat that will always look chic, wherever you are.
Casual enough for jeans for weekend coffee. Elegant enough over a little black dress at the Opera..
What to look for?
It needs to long, long, long. Mid shin or longer. Like this one on SHOPwithFiFi
It’s needs to be in taupe, brown, neutral, khaki and/or cream.
You don’t want black. It’s troublesome to style. It will make you look old. Yikes.
You need those neutral colours to break up the black !
It should be oversized and slouchy.
Go up a size or two if it’s a narrow cut.
But stick to your size when it’s a voluminous cut like this at H&M – instore only – or from WardrobeNYC or you can go for a more tailored like Burberry.
(Now I am wearing so many roomy pieces anything tight feels sooo uncomfortable).
It can be double breasted but single breasted can work pretty well too.
How to wear:
Over a white tee and jeans.
With a stripe tee and chinos.
With a chunky knit, long skirt and knee High boots.
Over everything you own. Dot com. End of story.
