Is there anything easier than tossing on a simple dress on a hot day?
I’ve been on a hunt for a white dress these holidays.
Fresher than a black dress.
Chicer and more understated than anything in a bright colour.
More flattering than a frou frou, floral, frumpy number.
Spied this fabulous white dress on Alexis Foreman a few months ago.
Now it’s arrived in Zara. Yay.
Love how it’s roomy and tiered with cute sleeves and a fifi approved neckline.
Most importantly it’s long.
Please invest right now in long summer dresses.
Over the knee or longer is a trend zooming the groovy richter scale.
Meaning ?
Buy right now and you’ll get serious mileage for seasons to come.
A word about shoes:
Grab low, easy mules or chunky flat sandals to balance out the volume of the dress.
You need something heavy to anchor it.
The bright green mules ( above) are chic but that colour is tricky & ‘aint so versatile. You won’t get much wear out of them. Zara styled this dress with black romper stomper boots which is a HUGE trend for winter. I am NOT going there and won’t be wearing them summer or winter (!) but they do give an cool to a pretty dress. Which is why chunky sandals will do the trick as well.
In summer it’s best to style white with tan or neutral accessories.
Then add a chic straw bag, brown sunglasses or tan sandals. Done.
If you’re not into a loose shape I have found 6 other white dresses from luxe to less below. And most come in black if you can’t carry off white.
