What to wear to work?
It’s a tricky one.
You want to look chic but also appropriate.
What’s interesting is that the trouser suit has made a comeback.
But every woman I take shopping does NOT to wear matching jacket and pants.
It’s too much. It’s looks a little old. Unless you wear a Balenciaga suit with white heels to joosh it up.
The best option?
Go for the chic expensive colours like black, grey, navy, cream and choc brown.
Then mix and match to your hearts content.
Remember the FiFi mantra: update the basics!

You want :
A blazer : now double breasted with shoulder pads. Or oversized single breasted, long and slouchy. ( love Vince! ) Black, cream or pinstripe is chic. Love a jacket in the check (see above the cheap but chic from Decuba or here from Seed).
The leather pencil skirt; now longer over the knee , could be in caramel or black.
The shirt: Now slouchy and loose with collar done up. Stick with white or cream and grey. Lighter colours.
The knit tee: Make sure with a FiFi approved neckline and a little loose.
The pant: Now high waisted with pleat front and baggy waist. In grey and black.
The pleat skirt: Now longer and in silver grey ( or black).
The trench: Now long and double breasted and no obvious hardware. In black or navy or taupe. Get all three.
The shoes: Round toe and pointy are both happening now. Choose what’s most comfortable. What’s new is the low kitten heel. Yay. You can see how white, cream and silver shoes add vava voom and a little edge to the total look. But black is fine. Rule of thumb? Wear pumps with pants and then try laceups and ankle straps with skirts.  You don’t want to look like you are a flight attendant.

By the way I have mixed it up so you can wear some pieces right now while it’s sweltering and then other pieces will take you right through to winter.
