styling trick : double up the volume !
The good news ?
Fashion is all about big, slouchy, voluminous shapes.
As all loyal FiFi Report readers know I’ve been going on about this new oversized silhouette since I first sniffed it out on the groove horizon a couple of years ago.
Slowly you would have noticed everything getting looser and bigger. YAY.
The tricky bit is knowing how to put it all together .
So here’s the thang:
Volume on volume is the way to go: It’s the styling trick of the week.
Time to layer up baggy with baggy.
A big coat, a loose sweater, and oversized pants. A long skirt with a muffin covering chunky knit.
Of course it takes time to get used to the idea. It’s very 80’s . Yikes, I hear you say !
And some people will feel swamped.
And some people will be shouting hallelujah.
If you can’t quite go there then at least add a single slouchy piece to your outfit.
Baggy pants with a neat jacket or a slouchy sweater with skinny jeans.
Because what’s the one thing that looks dated and completely old fashioned ?
Tight with tight. Wrong.
Go big or go home !
