Item du jour: a stripe tee
It was Coco Chanel who said “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”
It was also Coco Chanel who was the first woman to throw on a stripe Tee. Mais oui!
She stole it from the fishermen on the beach in Normandy way back in 1920.
A fabulous mix of sporty and chic it will work hard in your wardrobe. It will never let you down. It will always be there for you.
But calmez-vous!
That doesn’t mean a stripe tee is not fun, young and sexy.
The editor of French Vogue, Emmanuelle Alt, is all about understated cool. She throws her stripe tee with black shorts, knee high boots and then lightens the look with a clean, white jacket. Talk about insouciant (Who cares if you can’t pronounce it; it’s French for low key chic).
A stripe Tee can get also funky. Miranda Kerr adds a tough biker jacket and ankle boots and looks fabulous.
But it’s Model du jour, Dree Hemingway, who is the coolest chick in school. Stripe Tee: Tick. Sharp, shouldered jacket: Tick. Red platform heels: Tick. Mad, bad over the top sunglasses:10 out of 10.
Straight to the top of the class!
