If you follow me on SHOP with FiFi instagram you would have noticed that this week I nicked into Uniqlo.
The new collection by Christophe Lemaire had arrived instore. WooHoo.
Who he?
He was previously the big cahoona designer at Hermes and now artistic director of the Paris design team at Uniqlo. Nuf said.
Last winter I bought his trench by U Uniqlo , the collection he designs, and his attention to detail for the price is fantastic.
Voila four fabulous finds you need now :

The parka:
It’s long, it’s flattering, its functional. What more do you want? Love the colour. It’s not pale beige but a richer caramel. The hood comes off and the drawstring waist means you look like you have one. Love the high collar. It looks so chic AND it would be functional in the rain as well.
Wear it with creams and neutrals and sneakers. Right now. In winter it will look great with heeled pointy boots tossed over a leather skirt. Tip: Go up 2 sizes , it should be slouchy. $199

The double face wrap coat:
It’s a fabulous coat. It’s a great cut. It’s a lighter fabric so good for a Sydney winter. You want the navy or black. I think the brown is OK but could be a tricky colour to match.  Love the long length. Any coat to the knee now looks dated. soz. The unstructured shape means it’s got a casual edge so that you won’t feel stitched up on Sunday at a cafe in jeans and sneakers. For a city look just toss it over a black leather skirt with boots. It’s slightly scratchy fabric but what do you want for $199? I tried the Large and XL. They  looked perfect. If you go up a size then the belt will sit lower which is better. Nothing like in the uniqlo photo. A must buy.

The long sleeve pull over:
This is a chic casual sweater/top with a contrast lining. A great piece to toss on when want something loose but not a T shirt. And you want something warmer that’s not a sweater. I like the off white but the grey is chic and so is the black. I would go smaller with this one because the neckline isn’t quite perfect. Wear with white jean, denim or chinos.

The Puffa.
Yes, I know it’s hot and humid right now but come winter you need a puffa. Maybe you already have on: I have been prattling on about puffa for years now. They have turned into a fashion item. You can see Uniqlo has styled it with a pleat skirt. This is a fabulous buy in brown because it will look really chic ( and less country outdoor puffa) with all the the taupes and browns in your wardrobe. Love the dipped hemline and the fabulous high collar. $199. Invest now.
