The secret?
Stick to the classic black, grey and stone and white. Add a touch of navy.
Mix it up: Wear three colours on the body. Steer away from head to toe black.
Look for interesting textures.
And you know that black and navy totes love and adore each other. You do.
Why? Because I have been prattling on about mixing navy and black for, like, ever.
Most importantly always update your staples so you have the new groovy shapes.
Because classic pieces will actually grow old and daggy before you ever will. Even with the Botox.

The shopping list:
The stone classic trench: A must buy. Toss it over everything.
A little black dress: Go for a flirty hem,  it’s more flattering than a narrow shape.
The skirt: You want leather . It adds texture and more excitement than Bradley Cooper to your wardrobe. (Leather too sexy ? If your boss looks like having a heart attack try a slick pencil skirt here. or flirty skirt here. )
The simple knit. It’s a basic. To go under everything.Try short sleeves. Go for grey or a lighter colour.
The blazer: Black is best. Love a slouchy look. It means you can wear it at your desk and not look too stitched up.
The pants: You want grey pants. They break up the head to toe black if you wear a black blazer.( Need black pants? This peg leg look here at Country Road is totes excellent).
The shirt: You need a white Equipment shirt or a silky round neck tee. Lovely on its own without a jacket.
The Shoe: Love grey or blue to break up the black. Love a black kitten heel. Best way to keep up with the boys.
The bag. You want a lighter colour like grey, taupe or textured. The bucket shape is new. The shoulder bag is cool and the big tote is totes.
