It’s time to throw on a cape superwoman!

What: Ponchos, capes and blanket dressing.

Which: You want a cape this season. It could be a short cape , a long number to the knee that wraps and tosses or it could be a knit poncho. With a hood or with a poloneck. It might have a zip or fringing. Just look for anything arms free.
Go for the classic colours like camel, black and grey as it is quite voluminous. As in Statement making. As in there is alot.  Of cape. If you are feeling snazzy and adventurous go for light blue ( above) from the totes DIVINE Chloe prefall  or try dashing red Louis Vuitton. Then drool over the fabulous blanket/capes from the latest Burberry and Ferragamo shows (below)
My point being? If capes/blanket/ ponchos are feauturing big time in next winter collections then you know this is an investment. Big investment. #joke.
PS: Just to remind you: who started this trend? Celine of course. From where all fashion derives . Check out the Celine show way back in 2009.

Why: Because it is the perfect trans-seasonal piece. Because it’s not a coat. It’s not a jacket. It’s roomy and voluminous and you can hide anything under there like muffin magnums ( and you can sneak those Prada shoes into the house very easily ). Because it’s the epitome of relaxed insouciant chic.

Wear: It’s big and oversized so you must wear a little narrowness to balance out the silhouette. Skinny jeans, leggins, over the knee boots and short skirts. A black leather pencil skirt will love a cape ( I should know: I lived in that look the last couple of winters.) ( yes, I am sooo far ahead darlink). Try a simple knit or tee to layer under a cape. A dress is Ok but not ideal. Remember this is not a huntin/shootin/fishin country look. Mais non! It’s sophisticated dressing.
